Hoping you guys can help me out. I am new to GEC collecting and have never owned a 38 Whittler. I was lucky enough to get a Bloodwood and received the knife yesterday. It looks great but there is a gap in between the springs and a piece of the spring sticks out and remains out when the blade is closed. However I can push it down with my nail. Thinking I should return it. Any comments would be appreciated.

Thanks
That gap is normal, and part of what makes these knives so special! The part that is sticking out is a wedge that separates the actual springs of the secondary blades, and then terminates to allow those springs to come together as "one" spring to support the main blade. It is quite an engineering feat to produce a wedged-spring whittler with such precision and fit and finish as GEC does... The knives without the wedge are much less desirable/special. It is slightly proud on this entire run, and GEC isn't going to do anything to alter the knife. It is perfectly as it should be and you have a winner to enjoy!
