Lets talk GEC!

It does make me curious if they will come up with a special bolster stamp or if it will be generic like what they've done with the #25 Barlows in the past - lined, blank, or UN-X-LD. I really like the rendering for the proposed forum knife but I am also a sucker for rattail bolsters.

Interesting that they are doing 86s so soon after the last run and also equally interesting that we would be getting two #86 forum knives relatively close together - albeit two rather different versions of the frame.

I love the rattail bolsters as well Dylan. It looks pretty sweet!

Wait what new GEC knives, the first run had better pulls, stag looks better with shields, I miss when stock stayed on shelves and the company didn't know if it would survive.

Now back to the knives - they look good. Good choices, some classic GEC patterns are coming.

The pull and the snap on the main blade are both spectacular. Big fan!" - QUOTE
Thanks for posting a picture!!;) I have one coming from Eastern USA to western Canada!! I might be very old by the time it arrives!!
Can you post it with the blades open??o_O

Glad and surprised to see a 3 blade 38 again. Such a fine knife.

Between the 38s, two Bark River pre-orders (that I shouldn't bring up in the GEC thread but did anyway), and now the just announced 83s and 86 BF Barlow I better find someplace to sell some plasma. What a knife year this is turning out to be!

Is the 83 based on an old Remington pattern? It looks like it and I've never had the pleasure of owning one. Looks like a 1303 or 1306.

Good for the collection. Not good for the wallet lol

Was really hoping for an 83 as the forum knife so that I could get one without the lolly-scramble. No disappointment with the 86 though.

I wonder how the “Glow in the Dark” Acrylic will compare to Nifebrite acrylic? I’ve been disappointed that GEC seems to have stopped using Nifebrite the last few years. That said, I’m not sure that I need an #89.

I love the #71, but I wish they were doing something more interesting than just OD and red linen Micarta.

2015 (has it been that long!?!) 71 sporting knifebrite scales.

Are you asking if they haven’t made #71’s since 2015? If so, no, there were runs in 2017 and 2018.

Keeping those juices flowing for the upcoming runs:

And by far my favorite GEC jigging (autumn leaf) on this 2015 83:

An 86 Barlow as the BF Knife is exciting news!

Now if the 71 was nifebrite I would be after one! Or the tortoise shell for that matter.

Maybe you too can get one like these . I certainly hope so .

I now need a Jigged Bone one .

Harry

Those are beauties Harry!
