rdave that is a handsome collection of straight edges...
Jaw droppers... though I must say I prefer the pile side of the ramsfoot- that shield never did much for me.
April 8th, 2021... Dear Diary...
I am also curious. Heard it was a short run but I have no clue honestly.anyone have any guesses as to the production totals for the #38's? I'm not hearing as much gnashing of teeth and rending of tunics as I might expect. Are we seeing a reaction to the pattern, or is it due to a higher production total? ... or am I just not reading about it?
@knifeswapper ? Any ideas Mike?
I think Bill has already made most of these knives, but they are sitting in a warehouse in Titusville. Hundreds of stockmen, barlows and all the other patterns suggested on these forums. Many in stainless and even a few in d2 just for a special run to kill off Queen that never eventuated. Prove me wrong!
How do you guys like the big Texas camp knives? Wish they would do more of these bad boys.![]()

Dan is correct, however there are many people who are promoting the cause for us.
Might see the cattle knife first though.
Is it that many people don't understand the significance of the knife?anyone have any guesses as to the production totals for the #38's? Just good at reading between the lines.Since you have been privy to much information, I'm going to hope you know something about this and it's going to happen!

This and thus the lack of interest in the knife. But also possibly profile that doesn't necessarily appeal to the flippersIs it that many people don't understand the significance of the knife?
I second that emotion.wanted to get my hands on an 83 forever
Sometimes I want to talk about a new pattern I spy on Great Eastern's site and dont feel it needs its own thread. I have also noted general questions about one knife asked in other threads that go unnoticed. This is an effort to give us a place to talk about these things. For instance:
Today I went over to GEC's site and saw a finished picture of the new #79 workhorse single spring knife.
I really like the looks of this one but I have a general question. I love that they are starting to use the coping blade as a secondary but so far its been only paired with a spear blade but, why no clip? Is their a historical connection to the pairing of coping with spear? Anyone else like this change? I wouldnt even mind seeing a little wharnie as a secondary either. At any rate I am just glad to see them stepping out of the box but the human nature in me cant keep from asking questions and dreaming ahead.
Bring on your random GEC pics, trivia, questions or whatever![]()
