Lets talk GEC!

I'm very curious to see what they do with the bolster for the production 86 barlows. The fancy bolster on the BF 86 barlow is what makes it unique IMO. I mean, sure they've never done hemlock green saw cut bone but we've already seen black/dark brown saw cut bone. I'm sure it's been done but I haven't seen a rat tail bolster on a barlow.

I’m getting more and more curious as time goes on just how unique the BF knife will be compared to the regular run. Seems like we’d need a more exact count by now (or soon) if it was to be much more unique than the covers. If they’re already processing bolsters and blades, then it seems likely those will be across the runs, and what does that mean for blade stamp? Doesn’t really matter too much to me overall, I’ll just be happy to be able to get one!

I could have sworn I saw one recently... Doubled back and sure enough Rhidian just made one with a rattail. He's got it up on Instagram and it looks positively wonderful. I've seen some "vintage" barlows with fancier bolsters with lines, but agreed that none of the production barlows I have seen have featured the flute.

If you look at the picture on GEC "what's happening" page, you see two street signs;
"Spring Street" and an "Oak Leaf pic"!! I wonder if that might have something to do with the regular Barlow run. I can't believe they would do "stainless"!? Could they??
Just some reminders;

My, my, Charlie, you have my envious attention...

Since we're guessing about the oak leaf - I think if it were a stainless knife they'd have used the acorn. There was speculation about a DLT SFO but DLT debunked that. Recently we have seen them use shields on regular run knives that were previously used only on SFOs, so I'm going to guess that either there will be an oak cover option, or that there will be a knife with the oak shield. I'd happily be wrong about that, having used to moan about GEC's not running enough stainless knives.

There's also some weird grey box behind the sign in the picture. Could just be a "slab" and that means the slabs are next in production:

Okay... I'm going to break this down for you all, so... hang with me here.
Gray rectangle. remove the "r" and "rec" and you have "gay tangle". A happy tangle.
When do you find a happy tangle?
Why it's a ball of your fishing line that you notice you created in the process of landing a lunker.
And what would you do with that lunker? why you eat it, of course.
And with your meal you'd have celebratory Champagne... which comes from where?
France.
Stay with me now...
Brown Oak leaf. Autumn- when brown oak leaves fall... Fall... prior to winter... winter, Christmas...
Christmas... "A Christmas Story"... Leg Lamp.
France... Leg...

Folks... we're getting a French Kate... but that's just what Bill Howard wants you to think.
He wants you to chew on the hints for a while.
Chew -> food -> fruit -> melons.
Yes.

We'll be getting melon testers.

I've had Deloris over in accounting double check your math, and she says it's solid.

Finally! That's exactly what we've needed!

I hope you are right about the stainless run. I was thinking the oak leaf might mean fall. So our spring streets coming this fall.

I agree that acorns mean stainless, but the oak leaf - I think it is just GEC. They use oak leaves on pretty much everything
