Lets talk GEC!

I agree that the bolster stamp doesn't look as clean and crisp as we are used to. which can give it a "cheap" look, depending on who's looking.

I like that it gives that vintage Schrade barlow look/feel. Maybe it will get polished up when they file/polish the pivot pins.

I'm probably in the minority overall, but I think the bolster stampings are tacky. I'd rather see them plain or just fluted. Just one guys opinion though.

I have one of these delrin Schrades, and I've always liked it. Sunken joint, so no tang in the way from the second blade (a non-issue with the GEC). Very smooth action. I'm thrilled if we're getting a higher end version of those. Though, the 86 is a good half inch longer.

To me, a Barlow is always better with a stamped bolster. It is a big part of what makes them interesting. The double acorn might not be everyone’s cup of tea. There is a lot going on there, but it is certainly unique. When it is polished up, it should be as well done as GEC’s other stamped bolsters. I really like it, and it is nice that those who do not will be able to get the Forum Barlow with an unstamped bolster. After all, it is simply a personal preference. I would not want to rain on anyone’s parade, because this is just subjective.

I like the Angus better, not sure what it is about the Barlow bolster that just isn't that exciting to me. Maybe it's the plain block lettering or simply the placement, I do like the design in general though.

If I had to nitpick, I agree with you on placement. I get that they need some space for the pivot pin but they could've nudged the stamp up a little imo.
