Lets talk GEC!

Is an all steel construction knife going to be a bad user in a humid area? I know there will be some corrosion, which is fine, but it seems like it could compromise the function pretty quickly down in the frame. I use all of my knives, and want to add a few GECs for their beauty and tradition. I'm thinking the Pony Jack isn't where I want to start, though. I do like the clip point and the long pull, but wood covers aren't ideal either.
I live in Florida And do just fine. I wipe down the knives I use each day and store them in sackups. They do patina, but I do not have rust issues so long as I stay on top of it.

Maybe you guys can help out with this head scratcher. The tang stamp on this one shows 151213 but I don't see any with an end cap in the production totals. I don't think i've ever seen a clip with an EC and I don't think i've seen a 15 with the Tidioute etch. What do you guys think?

I've not seen one like that before.

I think I used to own that knife and bought it from mrknife mrknife , who got it at the GEC Rendezvous.

I'm not looking for "deal spotting" but, where do I find them for sale? I'm looking for a drop point slip joint of good quality. I also want something other than cheap stamped steel so, that is what brings me to GEC for 1095, though I'd prefer a stainless option from a modern stainless steel that is made in the USA like GEC.

Are BladeHQ and CollectorKnives good places to watch? Both have treated me well in the past and seem to be preferred GEC dealers.
These 74 Mustangs are from last years run. Not stainless but good old 1095. It took a while to find but ask around, post a wtb and in your signature line. Folks around here are very willing to help. See below!12530753-A5B8-42A3-BFC7-3A1DFADC82B4.jpeg61679807-7E4C-40CE-90AB-E8ACF9D99A79.jpeg

no at the time I bought it, it wasnt an sfa, and I was there that year. it was one of those cleaning out the storage closet of knives cause theres an S on it. I do remember what the SFAs were that year because that was more or less the beginning of the sfas being better than the actual rendezvous knife offering. It was a 38 single blade in abalone.

Thanks mrknife mrknife that clears it up some. It's definitely a unique one.
And then there are those knives made for selling in the store during the Rendezvous from parts left over from Runs that were maybe made in 2018 but the blades are stamped as though they were made in 2014 that adds some mystery too .

So who’s taking a guess on how many new knife patterns are left in 2021?

My guess is we may see one pattern with two cover options. This assumes the whit owls get finished and shipped in November and the last two made and shipped in December.

No matter what, GEC has turned out some amazing knives in 2021!
