Lets talk GEC!

😁😁😁 I love the humor behind this knife

Gotta say again, just went back a page to look at the picture...absolutely loving the swedge on the pile side, but having another stamp opposite the mark side is new to me.

This white owl just may have my new favorite main blade style, with the clip, long pull and an awesome swedge on the pile side...nice...:thumbsup::thumbsup:

I mean on youtube videos, I would love to do it for real one day though.
I highly recommend you do the tour in person someday. The videos are great but they cannot replace the hands on feeling you get from the factory tour. Do a Rendezvous some year. There are tons of things to do in this beautiful historic area and we almost always spend a week when we go. We love it so much we purchased a summer cabin in the area earlier this year. It's a fantastic place to get away from the daily rush. Glad to help if you have any questions.

The two that I'd most love to add to the collection would be a lambsfoot and a whaler. Since we saw Charlie's lambsfoot recently I imagine we won't be seeing another of those for a long time but who knows maybe a whale is next. Or a norwal?

I’m a little disappointed they didn’t include a shield on the marrow bone version. I wonder what the rationale behind that was? I think they look a lot more finished with the shield.

Maybe the same reason they no longer set shields on stag? Something about the irregular depth, I think.

You are probably right, it probably is the same reason. Bill Howard had to do the stag shields for a few weeks and by the time the regular guy came back to work, Bill decided it was no longer necessary because it was hard to do.

His decision has not negatively affected sales while lowering the cost of goods sold.🤔 Sounds like a business decision. Every other knife maker has either left, makes a sub par product, or has just gone out of business, yet everyone wants the last one to make business decisions on their personal hurt feelings who cares if they survive after I get my way.

I don’t think anyone seriously holds a grudge and we all understand the economics of it…. Doesn’t mean we aren’t allowed a little whinge once in awhile over a very real case of a beloved company cutting a (small) corner in the name of production economy. We are all grateful they haven’t cut more! That being said, I kinda prefer the look of shieldless stag over the bulbous UnXLd shield that used to be de rigeur on those.

No issues with wanting something that is no longer available, calling someone's explanation "lazy" is where the issue arises.👍
