Lets talk GEC!

I have an admittedly strange question, but I'm strange and I can think of no more knowledgeable group to ask than the folks here.

Has GEC ever made a multiblade knife where the blades were of different metals - say 1095 and some kind of stainless? I'm thinking something like that might come in useful for long term carry, with the SS blade maybe holding its edge longer but taking more time and effort to resharpen, while the 1095 might need more frequent resharpening but could be resharpened more quicly and easily.

TIA!

Case also makes a stockman with CV blades and a stainless punch...

Not to take away from the Barlow talk but I did just get in a user #18 - I had forgotten that the #19 is a reversed #18. Pretty cool little knife - barehead, hound tooth shield, Osage and it also came with a cool Coyote button.

According to Randy they are not an exact flip. He tried but had to adjust the 19 a smidge to make it work.

Interesting. I am curious where the tweaks are - lining up the frames with the blades out, I am having a hard time seeing where the differences are. I wonder if they are internal.

He had to move the holes to fit the blade correctly. Something not usually required to reverse a frame. The small size and shape made it necessary.

Thank you for the update. I was wondering if that might have been the case.

The osage 18 is a handsome knife, handy too I imagine. That one would see a lot of time in the watch pocket were it in my collection. Nice pick-up, Dylan.:thumbsup:
