Lets talk GEC!

I put my name on a burnt stag 83. Hope I am early enough to get the pick of the litter, and I am already putting together a turquoise lanyard for it ;)

I might like to see this new 83 in a fixed blade configuration like the 73s.

I do love a tiny fixed blade. That would be pretty sweet.

The #63 Mako was available in the Great Eastern line with 440C which came out at the beginning of the year. I don't think 440C is going anywhere but they seem to pick and choose what knives they use it on. I've heard it's not a hot seller.

Oh yeeaaah the Mako, it was so far off of my radar that I forgot about it entirely. Maybe it'd sell better if they put it on a less, uh "unique" looking knife. I enjoy a nice patina as much as anyone but if I'm taking a knife into some real nasty wet and muddy conditions I still like stainless. I feel like it holds an edge better too, but I've never tested that.

Not your fault, some of the links are broken/missing

Very nice looking

I'm new to GEC; all these SFOs are very confusing. Who will be selling the 83s, and do I need to get on a special list?

Looks like a very interesting smaller Lockback. Drop point me.

The last Lockback I got from GEC was a Wall St. in stag, superb construction and finish on mine, no play or stickiness in opening, no gaps either-most impressed. This one screams a nice light coloured micarta: Antique Ivory or Natural please!

Thanks, Will

How long might it be before these # 83's are for sale ? I have not followed GEC closely enough to know the time lag between GEC's first announcement and knife going out to dealers.

Unless I'm mistaken, the 25s will come after the Bull Busters. They wanted to put something between the 73s and 25s to space them out so that the heavy collectors could partake in both popular patterns and to give dealers some time to move the 73s before having to shell out for the 25s.

They have moved the #25's back and the #83's are on the schedule to finish up in mid-August. They had to clear some room for the rendezvous.

Hi Maverick: "I sure wish they would do another run of #33's"
My Northfield Ivory Conductor with bail is a superb knife, maybe The Best of my 50 or so GEC knives. I also have vintage Sheffield Swell Center Pen knives and my Conductor i think is in the same league.
