Lets talk GEC!

Coming soon..."GEC #153215 Beer Scout #153215EO Tidioute - Smooth bolster - sheepfoot/cap lifter, bail, easy open, nickel silver bolster, brass liner, large Tidioute shield stamped "Beer Scout Knife"

Gee, I wonder if this will be popular :D

Wish they kept all-steel. But there are only a few #15s with brass/NS so I suppose it's good to have variety.

Wow! I thought this was a joke! Tortoise shell acrylic?! Heck yeah!

Sonnemann - Thanks for the alert!! I've been slippin recently. Very glad I didn't miss out on this one!

Are these standard production? Does anyone know if these are coming after the 21's or are we going to have to wait an eternity until after the 25's? Maybe we'll get extremely lucky and they'll slip these in like they did with the last short run of 48's.

Maybe there are some GEC buyers who are sensible and actually feel quite satisfied by owning one or two. But if they exist, i doubt they are regulars here.

Joe, I had just one or two . . . . for about one or two minutes! Now I have over seventy, and I've actually slowed down quite a bit, having sold at least as many as I still own. Still have the first one I ever bought though, my burnt grizzly cut bone Big Jack.

Heck yeah! It looks like they are offering a variety of great covers. I don't normally care too much for acrylic, but the tortoise shell is something I can definitely get behind!

...and a bail too!?! :thumbup::thumbup:

One knife will never be enough! :D

Oh, Steve... Why did you have to post these photos? I am on my knees bowing to this beauty! I would sell my kids' bikes for one of these. Wait... That sounded a little too much like an addiction...

A little over the top, eh? Obviously, someone at GEC is reading this forum and trying to tic all the boxes on one single knife.

I actually love brass liners. I know their a little cheap and trashy, but I love the brassy color. Strangely, I prefer steel bolsters to nickel silver... But who's going to complain about this one? There's something here for everyone. I think Abe Lincoln said, "You can't please all the people all the time..." But this knife sure tries to do that!

Time to start a Beer Scout thread. Or is there a caplifter thread or EO sheepfoot thread we could hijack? I think I will start one just for this knife.

I hope someone at GEC is watching this thread closely, so they can note, not everyone wants a bail and produce some 15 EO's without one. FWIW

I'm into the bail. I will display it proudly on my keychain, or use it to attach a pocket hook.

Scott- LOL!! This whole forum is here to take all of our money! I'm glad that my pictures weren't wasted. Sometimes, that's all I can find of an elusive grail knife and I think to myself, someone is holding out on me!

As for the bail on the upcoming Beer Scout; I think it's fantastic! About time we get a #15 that really sets itself apart from the rest. Finally we get some different cover choices and the bail is like icing.... yeah, some don't like icing, but most of us do!
