Lets talk GEC!

I always preferred bone to other materials, but in this case, strangely enough, I think I'll go for the acrylic version. Not sure why, maybe I've been waiting for another interesting acrylic for too long, or maybe because that bone reminds me of Case Crandall series... One of which I have and find it, uhmm, strange. :p

After oiling my GECs I suddenly realized that springs are also carbon steel. They are, right?.. Got all knives out again and lightly oiled the spring both from inside and outside. Don't want to have a perfectly clean knife with spring broken because it slowly corroded by an unseen rust spots. Now the main question: I usually use Victorinox Multitool Oil, but if it will accidentally touch bone or wood covers, will it make them any damage?

I think you are fine, I’ve used Victorinox oil before and haven’t noticed any detrimental effects. I usually use mineral oil and just cover the entire knife then wipe it clean.

The thing is that I don't know which type of oil Victorinox's is. Couldn't find any clarifying info on its composition.

Was taking a few pics this weekend, so I gathered together what’s left of my GEC collection for a group shot. All users except for the M&G in the top right, for now. The 29 is my favorite pattern, and I think I would be just fine with only those two, and maybe the 47 and 93. And possibly the 77.

Nice.
Where have you found that’s the best place to buy ? I bought mine of eBay but that’s a gamble really these days.

I used to spend way too much time trying to anticipate drops on multiple sites, and hitting refresh till I got lucky. Luckily, I no longer have the patience for that GEC game, and I’m content with my collection. If I wanted another one now I’d probably watch the exchange here. I’ve seen a number of good ones sit out there recently at very reasonable prices.

Well I’m a little late to the game as usual but I was into fixed blades and haven’t been into pocket knives for a few years.
