Lets talk GEC!

Is GEC not using Ebony or Cocobolo anymore? Haven't seen it in awhile. Of course my attention span isn't all that long.

Yes, they are still using ebony and cocobolo on runs. Just don’t see them as often as they use to come out. Maybe because of inflation or the scarcity of the woods…

I'm not sure what is meant by "for awhile", but in addition to those already mentioned:

The #68 Pony Jacks released last October were only made in Cocobolo, all 1080 of them (unless you include the 33 units made in Stag for the Ocmulgee Knife Colloectors Club);

Just prior to that, the #86 Angus Jack was offered in a choice of 'Medium Rare' (313) or 'Well Done' (512) Macassar Ebony;

Earlier in 2021, there was a run of #15 Huckleberry Boys' Knives, with 606 in Cocobolo.

The beer scout from 2016 takes one try every time. Most caplifters are made to thin. A little thicker stock makes a world of difference for a good lifter.

The #42 is my first GEC and, I think, the best. Been a while since they ran these. Wonder when we are due?

You got any other 42's to share?

I was close back in 2018 - was only missing a few patterns at that time - but have given up that pursuit.

You're going to need some swiss army pants to carry all of those!

Would anyone who has both an 88 trapper and a 48 trapper (two blade) be willing to post a comparison picture? Thank you!

So I'm guessing next on the production list, after the coon skinners, would be our BF bunny knife?
