It really is a great knife! There's always a very appreciative audience in my house for a GEC 38 of any sort, that scalpel like Spey secondary is very much a budding type.
Could it be a 39 frame with a big curved Pruner blade ? Or is a reference to the Harvester? Whatever, it sounds promising![]()
I wonder if it would share exactly the same pruning blade with 47 though. Or maybe it will be a whole new pattern on 38 frame? There's always a very appreciative audience in my house for a GEC 38 of any sort, that scalpel like Spey secondary is very much a budding type.

There is already a pruner blade designed for the 38.I wonder if it would share exactly the same pruning blade with 47 though. Or maybe it will be a whole new pattern on 38 frame?
Oh myThe drop point #74 Mustangs are great, but I think I like the clip point Stallion just a little bit more.

The curved Barlow’s pretty great, too.

Don't get too all over it, I'm ahead of the queueI’d be all over a farmer’s jack, it’s one of those patterns I’ve always wanted to try, but has eluded me thus far.
Alright, then I wonder if 47 shares the same pruning blade of 38.There is already a pruner blade designed for the 38.

The same with a long opposite bladeIf GEC makes some more Farmers Jacks , I am sure that would be a " GRAIL KNIFE " for a bunch of people .

No.Alright, then I wonder if 47 shares the same pruning blade of 38.
Am I too late to try to reserve one of the Rosewood #47? Am I stuck paying high prices on Ebay? Looks like I just need to reach out to a few dealers via email/phone to try to reserve. Any favorite or preferred dealers that the GEC experts suggest?
Hey, that’s what we all use our knives for! Welcome to the forum! These pruners are gonna be a cool knife!Man, this thread is a wealth of information and very hard on my wallet. I’ve started from the first post, and am working my way up learning everything I can about GEC knives. Also really want to take a mmoment to say thank you for all of the informative posts. I’m a researcher for sure, and this thread is pure candy to me
My recent knife journey started out with a nice Opinel for my bar cart, and then advanced to buying Benchmade, Spyderco, and Chris Reeve. The CRK knives were really up my alley. These are the ones I love to carry and use. Didn’t want or need fancy flippers or weird, aggresive looking blades.
I think it was a Reddit post that mentioned GEC, but man These knives are EXACTLY my style. See below for my super small collection of GECs.

I’m also probably not your typical “knife guy” - we live in a tiny apartment in Brooklyn and pretty far from the “outdoors” unless you count Prospect Park about a mile from us. My knives are basically used for peeling orange and lemon rinds for cocktail hour, opening packages, breaking down recycling, and very light household stuff. We do have a pretty large terrace with a ton of plants though, and I find myself using a good pocket knife for pruning, cutting plant supports, etc.
So, imagine my surprise when I see that the next GEC looks to be a pruner. I need that knife! Will be an easy sell to the wife - “Babe, I need this for our tomatoes and roses.”

First, welcome to the forum! Getting on a early reserve list can be tough. It took me a while to develop a relationship with my early reserve dealer. The are dealers that do public drops but timing is everything. How much time do you have and how much is it worth to you. If you were able to get PMs I’d be happy to pass along some tips. I can usually score on about half of the public drops but I have the time. Good luck!Man, this thread is a wealth of information and very hard on my wallet.
