Lets talk GEC!

welcome to the pleasure dome and the 🐰 hole! :)
Thank you so much, unfortunately I am no stranger to spendy rabbit holes - jazz LPs, watches, cameras, custom bicycles. All incredibly useful and rewarding hobbies, but always pricey.
Hey, that’s what we all use our knives for! Welcome to the forum! These pruners are gonna be a cool knife!
You should put your email down on some distributors email list that is always a good chance to get on drops. Also, sticking around here watching the exchange is also a good way to land some GECs at great prices.
Good luck!!
Thank you! Already noticed some sellers on here for GECs that are more reasonable than Ebay.
First, welcome to the forum! Getting on a early reserve list can be tough. It took me a while to develop a relationship with my early reserve dealer. The are dealers that do public drops but timing is everything. How much time do you have and how much is it worth to you. If you were able to get PMs I’d be happy to pass along some tips. I can usually score on about half of the public drops but I have the time. Good luck!
I’m willing to put in the time/work for it. Totally recognize that I’m a newcomer and need to work my way through the system. There were/are others before me who have done the same.

Thank you all for the warm welcome and HAPPY NEW YEAR to everyone! It’s high 50s and gorgeous here on the East Coast.

Brooklyn in the house!! welcome fellow brooklynite! I wouldnt get too jumpy about those. Although pruning knives have their niche collectors especially to the 47 collectors, some people tend to get major fomo and dump their knives here or in the facebook groups. Price wise, its not generally tolerated to discuss in this section of the forums as it has become a sore point of late. But yes, your plans seem sound.
Sorry I missed your post in my quotes! Great to see that there is another Brooklynite in the house. It’s funny, I’m in a 75 unit building in Prospect Heights and I noticed that someone else in our building had a package yesterday for Finch Knives (don’t know them) and I was like, ā€œGreat I’m not alone!ā€

I was kind of hoping that the pruner would be less attractive to people.

and you like watches and custom bicycles! if you ever see some one putting their watch on the table and several knives for a quick edc picture, it might be me!

Don’t want to go to far off topic, but when I mention custom bicycles, my latest is a hand-built steel frame from right here in Brooklyn - Horse Cycles. And Thomas also does knives. I bought a steel blade off of him to add my own handle to. Still looking at wood types for that!

Does anyone know who's SFO this is?
I'd guess it's Blue Ridge again, Smoky's wholesale branch.

I wonder what happened with that supposed-to-be-next-Remington bad looking Barlow from Bear&Son? Was that a prototype which was discarded due to the low quality or something?
