As I understand it, GEC sometimes shifts production around due to their suppliers’ ability to provide components. Maybe they intended these to be produced before the 47/74s and had to bump the swayback frame up. Hmmm…

That’s a great idea. Will call them today. I want to get one of their sharpening strops too. We are dachshund owners, so love that it has a dachshund on it.You should call the GEC Store. They might have boxes of the GEC book still available. A few years ago the book was very inexpensive from the store. In fact, one year just a few years ago at a summer Rendezvous they were giving them away when you bought two knives.
Ha, yeah I figure everyone here has been there. Appreciate finding a group that understands.Heh, you're definitely among friends here, welcome.

Tried the store today, but Joan said they didn’t have anymore on hand. Worth a try though. You should call the GEC Store. They might have boxes of the GEC book still available. Heck of a mail call for me today. Black Plum 47 Viper that I didn’t like three weeks ago, but all the sudden had to have. It’s gorgeous in person.
Also 15 Osage Wood 15 Barlow. Ooof, this one feels so good in hand.
And since I couldn’t find the GEC book under $300, I settled for this by the same author from Amazon. Not GEC, but about the history of the town’s cutlery manufacturers.
It’s overcast here today, so photo is kind of blergh, but man I can’t stop staring at these two!

Drool…

Yeah, sounds like they were giving them away to people just a couple of years ago. No worries though, so much infomation you can find online about these knives.Good looking knife. I’m trying to figure out if it has a slight recurve like a lot of GEC’s other recent large clip point blades. If it does, it seems very slight.
Nice couple knives! And welcome!
Yikes!I bought a copy direct from GEC a couple years ago (I think I just bought it off their website) for $20.
Heh I figured who the heck needs a $100 knife!Yeah, sounds like they were giving them away to people just a couple of years ago. No worries though, so much infomation you can find online about these knives.
I’ve went from zero GECs to seven of them in the span of a couple months. Will slow my purchasing a bit now, since I have the initial ones that I was really drawn to.
At first I said I would limit myself to six, but I think a baker’s dozen will *hopefully* be my limit. Time will tell.
Ha, at least we know we are not alone. I feel like this is a safe space!Heh I figured who the heck needs a $100 knife!
Even if I find several to be really interesting and aesthetically pretty
Now I got like 5, with at least 2-4 more patterns I find real interesting...and no way to justify spending $200! Or so for a new knife![]()
Just don't forget the first rule of Fight Club.Ha, at least we know we are not alone. I feel like this is a safe space!
