Lets talk GEC!

A lot of time went into creating this definitive GEC size list. Very helpful especially for the few obsessives among us. Thank you !

I think the size/length list needs its own thread. Just like the half stops. I will link to the threads on the first page but dont want to edit the post every time a new model comes out, someone can always post the info in the thread and keeps all relevant info easier to find. Just my opinion.

Ok, I had a little time this morning but then spent more time than I wanted to :o How's this list using the built in table function? Should I replace the list in the halfstop thread with this?

I had no idea there was a table function! Looks good - though on an iPad, it cuts off the right column-and-a-half for some reason.

Of course Jeff. We just need to decide if it will be a separate thread or if I should modify the list in the halfstop thread to include the new table/info.

I think that's my fault. I set the table size to be wider than the standard size so that more info fits on the same line. I checked it on my phone and it was cut off too. I just set it back to 500 and it looks like it displays fully now. Do you want to start a thread with this info - which you would have to keep up - or do you want me to add it the the half stop thread?

Not sure if that was a gentle push or a shove :p but I appreciate the info
Guess early reserve and ramen are on the menu.
Gentle only :)

Great job on the list guys. This will definitely help those that are newer to GEC to figure out where to start looking within the maze of pattern numbers. I would put this in the half stops thread and modify that thread's name. Really, they're both resources for somebody looking to try a new pattern and it doesn't make sense to have the information split up and spread out across threads. Kudos again on amassing this information. This is exactly what I was looking for when I bought my first GEC, but the info wasn't centralized like this. It would have been a huge help if it had been.

I think you should add it to the half stop thread; keep all the info in one place.

What he said.

Well, I tried updating the first post in the half stop thread and it just wasn't behaving the way I'd like... updates wouldn't save and the page would time out. I updated the 3rd post instead. Hopefully it'll let me update that post with new length info as new models are made.

I'm sure I'll be using the data in the list for more than one example in a statistics class I'm scheduled to teach this summer! ;);)
Thanks! :thumbup::thumbup:

Heavy pull on the #73, my first.

That 73 is gorgeous!!

I'm sure this has already been posted somewhere, but could someone let me know when the 83 is scheduled, or around the time that it is? I'm really looking forward to trying this one out and have three reserved. Three of the 4 knives I have allotted myself to buy this year.

Thanks

Thank you Rick!

Edit: Mid Aug. sounds good. Gives me time to save $$.

Interesting that there is another French Kate run coming up when they are so notoriously hard to move. Looks like a special run though. I think it is cool that they work as bottle openers, maybe more people will be interested this time around for that alone.
