I didn't said "tell 'em how you would like their knives to be done". I said that if you have, for example, some old pattern on your mind that they haven't done yet, you can suggest it to them.Yes, because there is no better feeling than when I post a picture of one of my carvings and a fellow reaches out to tell me how he would have done it.
Let the chef cook the food, the comedian do the funny, the artist paint the painting, the singer sing the song, and the cutler create the knife. That's how I handle it, enjoy their talent.
Yes, the suggestions almost always come with good intentions.I didn't said "tell 'em how you would like their knives to be done". I said that if you have, for example, some old pattern on your mind that they haven't done yet, you can suggest it to them.
That many and they're still almost impossible to buy from a store?!?2022 Production Totals.

I’d love to see a GEC pipe knife. (AGR as an example). All steel construction would be sweet.![]()
some people have modified their urban jacks to herbin jacks![]()
Considering they make ~500 of each variation, in most cases, and there are ~23 dealers/distributors...that doesn't leave a lot for each of them to sell. They go quick! That many and they're still almost impossible to buy from a store?!?
I agree. I've seen many knives with a blade intentionally broken off for use with a pipe. But, a true pipe knife must have the tamper!I don’t smoke out of habit, but if I do I lean toward the traditional leaf. A legit pipe knife has to have that tamper IMO. Herbin trappers are grifters![]()
Adding my voice to the GEC pipe knife chorus. That would be sweet. Now, I’m off to figure out this Herbin’ Jack mod mentioned by my Brooklyn comrademrknife just now.
Am looking at it now - probably could just remove the first two tines on the end for my small titanium “walk around the block“ pipe.people removed the tines on the comb
Yes, would love this!I would love it if GEC ever took it upon themselves to produce a pipe knife. Considering that a sausage knife and a hipster knife have been made by them, I don't think it too unreasonable...
This one is my favorite. It has a very useable pen blade, a chisel ground scraper, a very pointy poker, and a built in tamper. Everything you need and nothing you don't.
