I found that if you want to get on a dealers list it helps to purchase other knives from them regularly. It took me almost two years of being a loyal customer to make his list. That and I only ask for one of any cover from a new drop, pay promptly, and lavish praise for their consideration. 🙏

It seems cheaper in the long run for me to just pay flipper prices for what I actually want. I know that's frowned upon here, but unfortunately it's the nature of the beast. It's just not feasible for me to guess which dealer might let me get on a list and then spend $X with them over several years to maybe have a chance?
 
OK, now that we're digesting the latest production of GEC 72's, is it too early to submit a request for the next fantasy knife?

I usually just buy whatever someone gets tired of at a decent price, if I like it, and miss out on the recent stuff that is jacked up in price on the 3rd party market. So, I don't have that many because I wont pay big flipper prices.

I have a couple of #15 Urban Jack and a couple of Bunny Knife, a #05 Keychain in Stag, a #71 Sudbuster brown micarta and a #73 trapper in Gator bone, and a #68 White Owl. I gave my #19 away. A #72 is the only other one I'm interested in right now.

EDIT - how did autocorrupt change Bunny to Busy?

TBH, a relationship would be great, but I’d also be a lot lighter in the wallet, so I kind of like the rolling of the dice on the drops. If I get one it’s thrilling and if I don’t then I have more saved for the next. :) Would love to have a Cody, but we shall see …

After years of being with one dealer he retired & sold the business, this was sad because he always charged very reasonable rates for shipping to the EU and never sold me a disappointment either, plus he was open to trades. The new owner changed things considerably....so I have no 'relationship' . Anyway, GEC releases not much that interests me lately but I must say that some very decent gents on this Forum have helped me acquire some these last few years. :cool:

To the seasoned GECers, how often do the 14s come out? I know this is more of a guess/estimate based on past releases, but curious about the history … I’d love to pick up another! Thanks, Ray

I think we're overdue for a run of Sheepsfoot blades, but there's no way to predict what GEC will do.

Dang Will, in the future let me know, I passed along a micarta #56 at cost about a week ago on a different site. 🤷
