Lets talk GEC!

Magnificent my friend, she’s a great demonstration of why they’re so well regarded.
I’m currently trying to work through a sale with a BF member for a GEC Whittler, same as you as a working Whittling knife.
I'm not great at it. As an example, I decided last month to try my hand at whittling a Christmas tree. After a week or so I couldn't get the star on top of the tree to look right. It was looking more like a seahorse to me.

So, being the novice I am, I decided that I will just make a seahorse instead.

After working on the seahorse for a while it started to look more like a Christmas tree... and Christmas tree it is... for now lol.

View attachment 2449876this is a great knife the 62 easy pocket congress, it sat on a dealer's page for some time at a reasonable price, asked him why it's sitting there and was told not a popular pattern as well. As being a user, I had to have it shipped to an American address (a fellow that has used 123 bandaid's)I wanted to get the pocket carver but the wife has stated she will not keeping mending my pockets.
Great pattern!! One of my favorite pocket EDCs!!Tomato Vintage 1.jpg

Let's just pray to God it is not a charlie brown Christmas tree.

From my experience, never let anyone know what you intended on carving when you started. Only what you carved when you finished. 😉

I’ve recently been whittling what I intended to be a bear, wife looked at it the other day and said “wow, that pig is really coming along”.

As a poor craftsman I blame my tools 😁

Recently I've been searching something and came across my first posts here. What a bad self-presentation...

Mike, I am sincerely sorry I've said a bunch of nonsense. I was very incompetent and lacking of knowledge at the moment, with some bad attitude too. It is apparent to me now that I was impolite, even rude. I was wrong, please forgive me my behavior, sir, I apologize. And thank you for your most adequate and polite responses.

I was speaking publicly, so I feel that my apology should be public as well. Better late than never.
My friend, you display a rare trait today. Not needed, but appreciated!

Why not an 82 possum skinner in jigged ederberry,to go with tractor green barlow.those colors speak to all.

Oldy and Charlie, I agree on the pocket congress. Didn't think I'd like the pattern, but found one in such beautiful stag that I had to jump! Lovely blade combo and almost unnoticeable in the pocket makes it a complete winner.
