What? No etch?
I love the retro lettering and tough look of this whole package. Only wish they had done a long deep straight pull on that sweet clip main blade but you caint have it all!I thought it's better without the engraving, but still a very extraordinary GEC. The checkering was what I had in mind for my 38s. The process was not completed in time for production on them.
Probably for the best, we got stag.![]()
That looks like a Colonial to me /Got me thinking if the carving is only on the mark side.

Good lookin'! Bocote's grain is always a win in my book. So, what does the note say?Look what the GEC fairy brought me, including a note from Joan! First knife I have been able to order directly from the Titusville HQ in several years. I assume that means it was a slow seller.
I’m digging the reptilian Mexican bocote grain on this beefy serpentine frame, and I think the four sheepsfoot blades are pretty cool!View attachment 2816336View attachment 2816337

I reckon these will be a love or hate situation.
I have a 1 of 15 LHL but I’m also a lefty and very much appreciate it.
Tend to agree. While it's a traditonal & old-timey look, I'm just not drawn to it. The Tidioute Cutlery engraving across the scale kills it for me. Makes me think they're just playing w' a new engraving tool. I'd be 1st in line if/when these go on clearance sale.I reckon these will be a love or hate situation.
Yep, the quote below is from Randy Bell in one of the Facebook groups last night:...Makes me think they're just playing w' a new engraving tool...
Go Randy, Go!! But also, Stay Randy, Stay!!Yep, the quote below is from Randy Bell in one of the Facebook groups last night:
"Because this was the debut of a retrofitted CNC router control that did the checkering in one minute and another new CNC router bought for cutting Shield pockets to do the lettering in half a minute. Never will I Advance the state of gec like this again before full retirement."
I like the knife!! Please tell us, what is the polished stone?? Variscite??The 13 is a truly great knife View attachment 2817023
Great question, Charlie, and keen eye as usual! My grandmother and grandfather lived in Arizona for many years before they passed. Grandpa was an avid rockhound and amateur jeweler. This was one of his many random polished stones that he left behind. I always loved this green one so I keep it on my desk with other random objects. I assumed malachite, but it could be variscite. I do not know if he found it or bought it or traded for it. I do not know what it is for certain. Please tell us, what is the polished stone?? Variscite
