I was enjoying the build quality of this 2024 72 Plainsman today…. Pull is a 7 - about my ideal on a large knife.

Nice portrait, ElGato!! I really like this knife, and I am lucky to have one also!! I like everything about it, from the rich ebony, to the nice, firm pull, to the simple unadorned presence, to the play on words moniker!!! Plainly beautiful!!

I don’t like it but I don’t hate it either. Not my first choice.

I bet these will be highly desirable in a few years though and I’m sure it will get a dumb nickname.

I think its a weird choice to break this cover out with the fancy trimmings. All steel construction would have made more sense to me.

I like the look of the richlite. The whole 77 run looks epic. GEC is really putting out some good ones in 2025 so far.

I thought it's better without the engraving, but still a very extraordinary GEC. The checkering was what I had in mind for my 38s. The process was not completed in time for production on them.
Probably for the best, we got stag.
