I for one still lament the loss of shielded stag. A properly inlet shield is a thing of beauty.

I also like the shield on some stag knives, but prefer shieldless on others. Really depends on the piece of stag.

They did in fact make 58 pieces of a 735109LHL ........or ( LHL = LeftHand Lock ) . I even traded Half/Stop Ron out of with one of my 77 Barlows in 2017 . I still have it and it is still a little different opening it .

I doubt it. I mentioned to Bill that I regretted not having my #38s all steel. He told me that he probably wouldn't have made them.

I’m such a fan of the 74. Here’s my user cotton sampler in jigged micarta with a new brown leather boot lace lanyard and matching turned micarta / ultem bead. wlfryjr : I love the steel bolsters GEC put on these.

I was enjoying the build quality of this 2024 72 Plainsman today…. Pull is a 7 - about my ideal on a large knife.

Isn’t this the same size or very close to the 77?

In looking back at all my #72s and #77s, the #72s average about 0.18" longer.

The Campfire 38 is not a bad knife; single-spring, Wharncliffe main - it's got a lot going for it. This knife has decent snap, and the color and texture generally reminds me of a delrin Schrade Walden, although it is Bone of course!! Nice knife!!View attachment 2809386

Kinda sad I missed out on these. I love ebony and drop points are a favorite of mine. I'm sure the build quality was on point!

Having been fortunate to get the 2014 78 ebony I can say that you won't be disappointed in the ebony Yankees, because they are such a sturdy and appealing knife without being overly bulky,I look forward to get one down the road.
