Lets talk GEC!

Stainless Boy?? Will these be end capped or Barehead does anybody know? ELK too...don't have any GEC knife with that.

That 74 could be interesting.

I checked with a few dealers yesterday about the Boy's Knife, and the news was still fresh for them. No one knew much about it beyond "Surprise! These are coming."

Elk was typically (only?) reserved for use on the GEC branded knives.

I think the boys knives and mustangs will be very popular.

I'm dreaming that an 83, 92, and 56 Stainless will become reality if this 15 run goes down well:D:D:thumbup:

I might very well be using my Paypal account very soon
As for the #15, and although I prefer clip blades to spear blades as a general rule, I'd rather have a spear on a single bladed #15. Don't know why, but it just looks better to me. Yet, I might as well go for one of these, and then wait for another run (a couple of years probably ). On the other hand, the stainless single bladed 74 might just be too good to pass.
Time to go hunting ;)

Look out now! ;)

Aren't all of GEC's knives stainless? If it's not stainless it's Northfield or others correct? The GEC brand itself is 440c? Correct me if I'm wrong. Thanks

Yes, the elk went quick. Couple other options still available for early reserve.

I'm excited for the production update, but a bit disappointed the #14's were not up next or even listed on the production schedule.

The 15 frames were already in production I guess.

GEC as a brand = stainless, yes, and as far as I know always 440C. Northfield, Tidioute, and Farm & Field = 1095 carbon steel.

Historically, GEC (as a company, rather than the brand) has made far fewer knives in stainless than carbon. For a "stainless hound" like me, seeing three pop up on their production schedule in a row is like Christmas in June. :)

One of my unfulfilled wishes has been for GEC to produce more of their mainstream patterns in SS. I'm glad they are doing so, even if the runs are rather limited in size and produced as a surprise.

So I'm in for one of the 15s. Or two.

Thanks GEC for some excellent stainless options. Can you please add my Grail knife to the production schedule? That would be a stainless 72 with Blackwood and with Rosewood

Nice to see some stainless clips and drops showing up. The information I got was that only 100 knives in each cover material would be produced. Now this was yesterday and relates directly to the #15 frame, I could not say if this is the case for the #74. I was also told that because of the low production numbers some distributors would be receiving as little as four or five knives in each cover option.

Pretty excited about the SS Boy's Knife! Missed the elk, unless I just score one off of a dealer's site, which seems unlikely. Reserved a tortoise shell acrylic though, which should look pretty striking. Barehead would be okay, but I'd rather it was dressed up with a cap. We'll see! :)

Has anyone heard when and if GEC is going to do another run of 83s? I sure would like to see one with a wharnecliff blade!
