Lets talk GEC!

When you say 15 are you talking about the navy knife or was their some other 15 that came out that was gone so fast I didn't even see it?

Just wondering because I've seen a couple people say the same thing as you but I'm also seeing a ton of the navy knives in stock.

#15 Boys Knife, single clip-point blade, in 440C stainless. 4 handle options - Elk, Burnt Orange Jigged Bone, Old Barn Chestnut (wood), and Tortoise Shell Acrylic.

Actually handling a 15 -- the Navy Knife, my first -- is making me doubly excited for the Boy's Knife.

There are still acorn navy knives around. I nearly pounced on one today but ultimately you only need so many blades like that.

Now a beer scout, that we can work with. :D

You're giving the wrong impression. These knives aren't even released yet. One distributor took Pre-Orders.

Right, still in production, but jc57 is just listing the info from GEC's site, which is also confirmed by their WIP photos. I'm not sure what wrong impression that would be giving -- it's helpful info. :)

Okay, maybe I quoted the wrong post. Here is the better one for my response. The previous poster was asking if he missed a run of 15's and JC57 went through the whole list of options, as if he did miss them. And as I said, these have not yet been released.

Those 15's didn't last long enough for the water to get hot...I've been looking forward to a stainless version.

Get serious, he and a lot of people missed them as all dealers know to be true...

I don't understand how anybody misses anything when they're not even made yet? Only one distributor even accepts pre-orders.

Because as you may know, a few dealers will receive about 10 knives with various handles from this run and will sell those knives to 5 or so of their most important customers... This run was gone in seconds as everyone knows, including the dealers...Unless of course you are saying without reserves a dealer can fulfill the need...

It's limited run, not everybody will get a knife no matter what. I don't think you speak for all 25 dealers.

Does GEC do pre orders on their website? I looked around but couldn't find where

I will finally have me a GEC single blade clip chesnut and elk. First one I have been able to get my hands on and bonus, its a rare stainless. Wish the liners were steel though.

I had bough a Farmer Boy which I liked a lot but would rather the second blade be smaller to reduce weight and thickness.

Oh, so you are now affirming most people will not get one of these knives, when a few posts ago you wrote, "I don't understand how anybody misses anything when they're not even made yet? Only one distributor even accepts pre-orders"...

Does anyone know when this run of Beerscouts and 15's are supposed to be released?

I don't know, heard lots of things, I'm personally planning late Sept, early Oct.

edit: I was referring to the 153216 #15 Boys Knife with bottle opener and Beer Scout.

What rma100 is saying is that these knives have not yet been made, hence not available to the public yet, and only one dealer reserves the knife, so all of the other dealers have yet to make them available. This would mean that anyone has a chance at getting one. Just keep checking the dealers when the knives are beginning to come out. He also said, because these are a short run (there won't be many made), so not everyone that wants one will be able to get one. I'm sure he's right about that..........of course there's always availability from the folks who buy them five at a time, then sell them for double the price on the forum or the bay.
