Lets talk GEC!

A shield would have been a nice touch.

I'm definitely on the fence. The main reason is because I have a reservation for the beer scout. Maybe I will just grab one and see if it has a spot in my collection.

That blade etch is a definite no from me. It doesn't go with the rest of the knife. But it can be removed....

Yes, it can be removed. But that's the etch they've always used on the Crown Lifter runs of the past. They made them in Spear and clip point and now this is the first Sheepsfoot Crown Lifter run.

Yes, i guess its just this particular version that I don't warm to. Maybe the previous clip blade suits it better.

I wasn't sold on the Beer Scout simply because of the shield, just my personal preference. The etching on this one although the same as previous runs is also a bit of turn off but that does away with use and patina. I do want a #15 and a sheepsfoot blade so this one may check both of those boxes for me.

I like the nice and clean understated look.

I have an OD linen on order, the antique jagged bine really has my attention as well, however, I eventually want a version like this with a clip main so will wait for that at some point in the future.

Should be a perfect hard user though

Lordy me- do I love me some bare head ebony knives. I'm already in on some Beer Scouts, but I may have to pick up an ebony Crown Lifter.

I thought that these had brass liners so I wrote them off. Does this mean the beer scout will be all steel also?

I've always liked that Crown Lifter etch. Didn't realize this run of Boy's Knives was going to have it, but it's a pleasant surprise for me. (I do think it looked better on the clip blade, but I still like it.) Looking forward to the yellow jigged bone.

A bit of topic but I wish GEC would update the production schedule on their site. That doc link has been broken for weeks.

I think they glue ( expoxy) the pins in and that's just squeeze out . Not positive , just my guess

Just got an email from CK for my #15 crown lifter. Why am I such a sucker for ebony???? :hypnotysed:
