Lets talk GEC!

Yeah, I agree with Colin. Those look fantastic. I expected the bone to be a little lighter. Can't wait to see them finished...

The bone typically gets lighter when they polish it. They always appear much darker right after the dying process.

I think they're going to look fantastic. I really like what I see so far and am very anxious. Won't be long now.:D

So far I like the color. I know the color changes significantly lighter after polish, but these are darker than what I expected at this stage. Can't wait to see the final product. Hope to see some pictures of them out in the wild before Christmas!

Holy cow, that Charred Oak is awesome! If I would've know that was going to be available, it probably would've changed my preorders a bit. Very sneaky, GEC!

Now I have to figure out how to get one... :D

Looks like another Lolly Scramble will be happening soon...

Edit: Read the blurb on the GEC site. So, the "Beer Barrel Oak" knives didn't actually come from the barrel? Only the "Charred Barrel Oak" covers came from the barrel?

I'm planning on "charring" (staining it darker) my chestnut #15 . I will take before and after pictures ;)

For real! This is right up my alley. Will they be released through the usual channels of dealers?

Shawn, I think they all came from the barrel, just some are 'bark' and some are 'interior' wood.
