The #42's blade is about 3 3/8" tip to bolster and the #72 is about 3 1/8". Both are solid side to side but have a little up and down play which I've found pretty much in all my #72s.

The bone on those #42s do look great Barry!!
 
Just saw the Chestnut bone on the GEC site. But they didn't have the etch on the spear blade??

Yeah, I noticed that as well. Hopefully they were just rushing to get a pic up before the weekend and the knives were not quite finished yet?
 
I'd love to see a double spring GEC with a clip point master blade on one and a cap-lifter/driver blade on the other... with an awl! Maybe on an equal end #68 frame? :thumbup::cool:

Here's my "wish list" GEC knife.
A full size Pemberton. About 3 5/8" should do it. As far as I know, they never made a large single blade swell center.

I never warmed up to the Pemberton, the proportions just didn't look right. A 3 5/8" would be sweet and I would even like one in the 4 1/4" size.

However, I'm still waiting for a 5 1/4" coke bottle hunter with a sabre clip. Now that would be full size. :D
 
Has GEC ever produced a coffin jack? This is one pattern I have always wanted for years, but they're either case's tony bose and too pricy or too cheap of quality.
I'm curious as to what i would take to petition them to start a coffin jack because there was another thread where people were complaining about it as well.
If they made a coffin jack it would sell like hot cakes, I would like it to be larger as well 4.5 to 5 inches closed.
 
I would like to thank you guys for the info on gec. I recently got a 25 on trade and since then I had to have more! Here's my recent acquisitions. I love these knives!
