Lets talk GEC!

The OD Green CANVAS Micarta 71's were a SFO for Collectorknives.net. The Micarta Handles were purposely left rough for better grip while working with the knife. GEC finished these to the order specs.

The sharp and exposed pivot pin on mine (also noted by other forum members who own one) needed finishing before the knife was comfortable to use. It's still proud, but no longer sharp. I also smoothed the handle, to my preference. The lack of finish fit well with the work knife aura of the Bullnose, as a marketing concept, but translated poorly to the hand, in my opinion.

How about a 92 with wharncliffe master blade? Yep! I got the news this morning. There will be spear models as well.

Also another run of 72LB's coming up.

I don't think I'll buy much more knives for a while, but in my opinion a 92 with a single wharncliffe would be a good option.

The 92 is a big favourite of mine, got the Ivory Bone and Green Bone Tidioutes, really well made. I'm a bit confused by this re-run, are they 2 blade Jacks or single blade? Barehead? Any ideas? If they are Jacks, I'm surprised they didn't offer Clip this time round instead of Spear again, the Wharncliffe will be on my want list for sure.

What's the feeling about the forthcoming tadpole sized Magnum 22? At a shade over 2.5" closed it's just unfeasible to my mind but I suppose a lot of people could go for it, thoughts?

Very little info on the 92's at this time.

The little 22 Magnum is small; should drop right into the watch pocket on yer jeans or be small enough for slacks or office use without raising any eyebrows. Looks like it will shape up to be a beautiful little pattern.

At first I was interested in the .22 Magnum. Once I saw the length was smaller than my Case Peanut I became less interested. Not sure I would like anything smaller. Definitely would require checking it out in-hand before I'd even consider it.

I had the feeling that a large gunstock pattern would be very popular, I think this little knife will be good though. I have the similarly small Pemberton, and I think that the 22 will be better, the gunstock frame shape leaves the blade more easily accessible. The lines of the small pattern are still elegant, sometimes a mini version of a pattern looks less elegant than a larger size pattern. I think the the Northfield version with its cut swedges works better aesthetically with the sharp angles of hte frame.

I'm very interested in the #22 Northfield as the flat beveled bolsters have me intrigued. It also looks well proportioned. Just waiting to see how the cover choices work out.

Ehhm... I won't be picking one up. I have an Old Timer about that size, and the only reason I'm keeping it is to give to a future son/daughter with tiny child hands. My sasquatch-fingers can barely maniplulate the tiny blades, and I can't fit more than a 1-finger grip on the lil thang.

Can any of you GEC insiders/distributors/dealers speak to the plans for the 53 flat bolsters as shown in one of their "what's happening" photos? Club knife maybe?

Oh im with ya on this. I hope the bolsters stay beveled like this, very sweet.

Combine the #15 radio and harness jacks onto a #68 frame and you've got one bad ass cub scout knife. Would be my perfect EDC knife. Compact with a nice set of tools. Let's do this GEC!

Single blade, as they are listed as 922114 / 920114 patterns. They didn't list "EC" but I can get some clarification tomorrow.

Thanks! A single-blade in that pattern will be a pocket-treat, I feel the drool rising already! Wharncliffe ahoy:D:thumbup:
