Lets talk GEC!

To change the subject from buying processes... Does anyone know the production totals for the new TC Barlow? The peach seed looks fantastic!

Purely a guess here, but it looked like about 500-550 . A whole run with just one cover option. Trying to make enough for everyone is my guess.

It's probably best that everyone wishing to discuss the early reserve system, continue the conversation in the appropriate thread HERE. We don't need this one locked.

Thanks for the reminder, Daniel. OK folks please take the early reserve discussion to the thread referenced above. If Frank notices the errant posts later today he might move them to that thread (something I don't have the ability to do).

Gusnuts,
Sometimes you can get some clues by the "notes" that GEC has in their pictures on the "whats happening" section.
Also, you can count the tubes on the shipping table. :)

...As some of this thread clearly points out, I'm a ruthless thief of other people's intellectual property....

If you are referring to me, that was not what I said. I think you are just playing but if it needs some discussion please email me since that sort of discussion would be against the forum rules.

Seriously? The only reason I'm here is that I thought I'd better say something, since it seems I've been run through the funny papers on this forum all day. The knives were all sold less than a minute after the early reserve was up. I was merely trying to explain how this knife came to be.

I believe your input is very appreciated and your clarification on the subject was well stated. You are not a seller, dealer, or service provider and thus no more required to be a paid member than anyone else that doesn't meet the aforementioned criteria. Folks are pretty passionate about this SFO and all SFOs in general, so please don't let some of the comments leave a sour taste in your mouth. With most, it's simply a combination of excitement and disappointment oddly mixed together. With others, it is a desire to know more about the thought process and motives that go into a knife design/release. No biggy

supra,
How would it be against the rules? You are the one who brought it up. Why should he not defend himself in public since you brought it up in public?

Oh, ok. I just thought, if the guy was enough of a big shot to get an SFO from GEC he could kick down a few bucks to support this website where so many people, including him, are talking about his knives.

I just like the rules to be applied to everybody equally, and I know I have seen admins step in in the past when commercial enterprises that didn't have paid memberships started talking about their products here.

Being a Canuck I believe I am excluded from this SFO sale as the Collectors site prohibits any international shipments. Sigh.

So many times I see CONUS only in the BF for sale by individual link as well. Then the exchange rate comes in to bite me if I order from other US dealers for new items.

Oh well,,at least it we always get great weather, hot and sunny up here. Dooh!

Enjoy your beautiful knives fellas! I am jealous.

Yes, I was just playing. No email necessary. But I do think it's a bit disappointing that guys have spent all afternoon speculating about my SFO and my character, even about conversations I've had with Tony Bose for which they weren't present. This is part of the reason I have a very small forum footprint -- it's within the rules to talk negatively about someone in the forum, but it's against the rules for the object of the dicussion to join the discussion? Interesting...

Your discussion of knives and the design of them is welcome. Personal insults can be slung by email if you want. ;) Even though I disagree with you on some issues, I welcome you to the discussion. I did appreciate that you clarified this is not a Case/Bose Lanny's Clip. For me this is about more than this run of knives. As I said in a prior post, I see a general trend.
