Lets talk GEC!

Autumn gold heartland clip? Northfield in jigged bone? Sign me up....

I see the rob bixby is autumn gold but it's mustang drop point. The northfield stallion just says jigged bone still. Does anyone know what flavor jigged bone it'll be? That's the one I'm waiting on before I decide weather to grab a cocobolo one.

I'm curious to see that too. Both the AAPK knives and the DLT Autumn Leaf have been the bigger horse-cut type jigging. I wonder if they'll do anything else on this run. I think Rob was shooting for something like the jigging on Charlie's Rope Knives. I think that would look really, really good on the 74...

Anxiously awaiting bone cover flavors as well. i wouldn't be real surprised or upset if the colors of Northfields and Tidioutes matched the SFOs but with corresponding shielding and probably a little different jigging. I hope for Autumn Gold. Always a great color.

PS Thanks Alan (just saw your post). Ya know we want em' all. :)
Keep an eye on the exchange for one at a reasonable price. Good luck, -James

Will do. Still fighting plumbing leaks but things are looking up. Thanks James.

It certainly looks very decent and I'm glad you were able to get it fixed up. Nevertheless, I have to say that I don't think GEC should be putting out working knives with such soft, pithy and possibly unstabilized wood in the first place. It doesn't seem well thought-out by them:confused:

How about the mark side? were you able to sand that down without compromising the inlet of the shield?

Regards, Will
Have to agree with you on that. It did leave rather a bad taste in the mouth.

I sanded it down gently with 400/500/1000 grit and went over the shield rather than working around it (I flitzed it back to a polish after hence the faint black line round the shield) That way I took off the original coating/patina from the wood without causing any problems to the shield. Here is a picture of that side after treatment, please note the lighting was different, in reality the colour/brightness is the same both sides.

Holding out hope we might see some #13 SFO's...

I'd be all over a natural canvas micarta with satin blades - Please Mike!

Just got my Snakewood 74 in the mail after a small weather delay...

Not my favorite grain pattern that I've seen (although the pile side is pretty cool), but a great knife nonetheless. Fantastic F&F, and that drop point is just about perfect for me.

This is the one I've been waiting for.

I really like that one, too. I slightly prefer the shield on Rob's SFO Ebony, but seeing as that one's a bit difficult to acquire, I'll probably be getting one of these. Here's the photo from GEC's front page today, just because. :)

My jigged autumn gold bone is definitely a clip point. They'll be available for a few minutes in KSF when they're released.

Thats good to know! I will probably shoot for one of the jigged bone flavors. Just hanging out to see. Since none have long pulls, the ebony tidooute would be my second choice. Yours in autumn gold would be high in my want list. Any idea when, about, they might hit? They haven't been made yet, correct?

That is a very Handsome Clip blade and the corset adds to the good looks.
I look forward now to the Tidioute 74's in ebony
