Lets talk GEC!

One thing to bear in mind about the allegedly less popular models is that in its early years GEC launched a lot of models and the company was still probably obscure. Now with many more people being aware of GEC and its quality, these lesser seen patterns could be yet popular second time round.

This is most certainly true. The demand for anything GEC produces is drastically different today than when those models were originally done.

Heck, as recently as 2014 TC Barlows would sit in stock at dealers before they would sell out. I'm pretty sure you could buy a TC farm boy 90 days after it was released.

I gave away my first tc barlow ( antique amber clip) , then debated for a day or so before I bought a replacement in the same configuration at the same dealer. Oh, the good old days .

Hi Mike,

Any predictions on whether GEC will produce a 440C jack this year? While you know I'd vote for a #48 Jack, I'll settle for a #15, #85, #92, #77 etc. Surely its time for a stainless jack from GEC.

No guess. A couple 440C releases a year will do well because they are so few and far between. But it is much more of a gamble than 1095.

Yes but only single blades. I think Trand is right, no stainless Jacks since the early 73 models it seems.

I want an ALL stainless Barehead Eureka, then I can retire from this frightful knife business..:D

And glad I am that you gave one away....so one day, years later, it would land in my pocket. Have I told you lately thank you?

I, too, would like to see another run of 81 stockman. Id be in for a couple prolly. Bone and wood version. Maybe even an acrylic and a stag.

I guess that's actually a couple couples of them huh...

I'm with you there SVT.. SFO?

As long as there was enough and I could get one lol.

I may be wrong but it seems sfo knives are made when they make a run of same patterns. I don't have to have sfo, probably rather not so I'm not using a limited edition, but I would if I got one lol.

I actually considered having an sfo made just for me and selling them off.

I had the same one and got rid of it because it wasn't a two-blade jack. Those were my favorite covers on any of the TC barlows, and they never made the two-blade with them. Had I known that, I would have hung on to the clip only model.

Count me in for a couple on the SFO. :)

That TC looks phenomenal, LastRodeo.

Great looking Cocobolo on that Stallion, AusLox. Cool grain.

That is awesome. I think I might like those covers better than ebony or blackwood even.
