Lets talk GEC!

Beautiful 64s, Dr and Steve!

Oh sweet baby Bill Howard, please make this happen!

Thanks Al. Good to see you around these parts. Always a pleasure!

On the subject of unpopular GEC patterns, I think the 56 3 blade Weaver Jack probably takes the cake. It's a big hunk, with a modified sheepfoot to boot. Glad I got two of them because I doubt this one will be made again.

In regards to the 81 stockman, I think it's a fantastic knife, but honestly, the 82 is the more svelte version. I know that a lot of folks want these, but even 6 months ago, this 82 was sitting on the exchange for at least 2 days before I grabbed it.

I gave my dad an 82 in Oil Sucker Rod from the Rendezvous a couple years ago. Wonderful knife, I think it's the more classic looking of the two. I like the blade shapes and profile of the 81 better, but I wouldn't pass on a run of 82s either. Great jigging and color on yours!

And glad I am that you gave one away....so one day, years later, it would land in my pocket. Have I told you lately thank you?

I LOVE the kind of serendipity that happens here!

The 82's are nice also. Id prolly pick one up if I ever ran across one.

But I would do many things that I would never admit to in public for that copper head jigged one 81 in that pic. I just much prefer square end stockman and that main blade and long pull.

WOOOOHOOO!! Birthday came early boys! Please tell me that's going on the SJ!

Absolutely, the Speaker Jack in stag would be awesome.

So it appears that they're finishing up the Northfield jigged 74s as well. I'm not sure I'm wild about them, but I'll have to see more photos. It's sort of a vertical grizzly cut...

Yes, John, very different looking jigging. I'd like to see other photos, too. The Speaker Jack would be pretty cool with a spear main and the sheepfoot secondary, but I'm not a fan of a sheepfoot main. 'Fraid I'll have to pass on these.

I'm holding out for the clerk. I'm not really concerned with what handle material they choose, however I desperately hope they don't throw the usual shields on these like the cloud and hotdog. I wouldn't mind the older banner style shields they used on the 62. They aren't my favorite, but I think they suit the pattern.

Edit: Ok, I lied. I could really go for a clerk in stag.

I am agreeing with you on that Erik !!!!
A pattern that I do not now have with Stag !!! Don't get much better than that !!!
SWMBO just agreed to another 74 with the Jigged Bone and I turned it down for one of the SJ'S or a Whip .

Every time I see a picture of a TC antique amber clip I get in the same state as Ralphie every time he saw an official Red Ryder BB rifle :love_heart:

A 2-blade 13 with jigging like the rope knife would be great! A fellow can dream, can't he? And although I usually wouldn't buy stag covers without being able to handle the specific knife I may be tempted on the 13's.
Take care all,
Rick

I gave away my first tc barlow ( antique amber clip) , then debated for a day or so before I bought a replacement in the same configuration at the same dealer. Oh, the good old days .

I had the same one and got rid of it because it wasn't a two-blade jack. Those were my favorite covers on any of the TC barlows, and they never made the two-blade with them. Had I known that, I would have hung on to the clip only model.

Looking forward to seeing what covers the #13 Office Clerk will be offered in. I hope the name won't be on the cover.

So Mr. Howard and company have a name for the jigging on the 74 Northfield. I'll be darned if it doesn't kind of make me want one. How could I not want something with a name like that? Of course I want a knife with handles that were attacked by a mountain lion. To my eye, the jigged Tidioute came out a little better, but "Spring Green" sounds so pedestrian next to "COUGAR CLAWED". :D

Hah! It looks a lot like Grizzly Cut. Does that matter?
