Lets talk GEC!

I like the regular clip point on the #48, but I'm not as fond of the muskrat clip. Probably better for my wallet that way (at least this run). :D

I wonder if it's not going to be as muscrat shaped as runs prior to the 74. Hopefully they go with something like the 74 muscrat clip.

Fortunately for my wallet I'm not really into the 48's. Now if it was a square end 73 trapper I would be in deep trouble. Just wondering, why is the bloodwood so popular? What is it exactly?

From how it reads and the picture representation provided it looks as though the 48s will be the same as the first impoved versions. I could be wrong though

The run Mike did of 85's last year also featured a Bloodwood option. I like my Smooth Autumn Gold bone, but after seeing pics posted of the Bloodwood, I thought it just might be the best looking of the lot.

I almost agree. But my 85 smooth autumn gold is one of my favorites. Full disclosure, I don't have a bloodwood.

Im looking forward to seeing how the rotten banana bone turns out. It should look great. Im also glad to see another run of African blackwood. I always regretted selling that knife. An old pic for the new 48s

As always I just wish they were all steel or at least nickel silver liners and pins. Brass just looks so off to me on knives especially ebony and I would really like that ebony sfo from Mike.

I did make an exception for the bone whittler because it just looks too good.

Is it known yet what the Northfield bone will be on the single clip 48? Also, does anyone have a photo handy of the 48 next to a 72, 73 or 74? Thanks kindly in advance.

Best I can do. Surely others have better.

A 73 and 48 sorry its not a great comparison shot

That was fast! Y'all are awesome. :) Hmm, it's about the same overall length and blade/handle length as a 72/73, just thinner & curvier; a good bit slimmer in the case of the single blade version. Not sure if that makes me want it more or less. I'll think on it. Thanks again. *tips hat*

You sure have some BEAUTIFUL knives Brett:cool::thumbup:

& Double posting to add:

The one at the top of this photo is absolutely beautiful. I don't usually like really busy jigged bone, the colors are perfect for the pattern (to my eyes, at least).

As is the stag (elk?) at the top of this one; perfect, that is.

Beautiful knives.

Thanks for that comparison photo showing both the muskrat clip and regular clip on the #48. Confirmed my decision not to reserve one. (We'll see if I still feel the same once the knives start coming out.) That knife on the bottom looks just about perfect! Wish I'd been around when those came out.

I liked the muskrat clip on the #74 and did pick one of those up, but I think I was ok with that one because it was still a pretty tall blade, not nearly as skinny as the muskrat clip on the #48. Something about that look just doesn't do it for me.

That being said...
