Lets talk GEC!

The Knife connection still has some desert ironwood 54s. This morning I picked up one in darker burly wood. A bit later got the email that it has shipped, talk about quick! Then I was pulled back for a second lighter one...

I committed a new high speed record in impulse purchasing today. I ordered a second 54 Beavertail within 2 hours of opening my first one from the post. That's how greatly this knife speaks to me. God I love equal ends. I used to think it was just scouts, but now I know it's equal ends in general.

I bought a Camillus Classic Cartidge Series equal end moose, many years ago. It was wonderful to behold, and felt magical in hand. But was too collectible for me to really carry and use. The #54 Beavertail is close enough that I finally have that perfect large equal end to pocket and use.

Buzz, your enthusiasm was a pleasure to read. The "Like" button never came in so handy. Nice knife!

Muchos gracias. My next week will be spent designing and crafting a leather pouch for it. It's too big for any of my existing pouches, that attach to my belt. Maybe I'll get carried away, and see if I can recreate the Beavertail shield on the front of if the pouch. It's been years since I've tooled a design into leather.

There is a Northfield single spear blade showing in the production schedule, the last of the current run of #54s.

Yes, as a matter of fact, I am.:) Been waiting quite awhile for another run. It's my own fault though because I sold the ones I used to own.

I've got one each of the Tidioutes reserved and I vow to never be Calf Roperless again.

I to have sellers remorse for my cocobola 66. Im honestly surprised more people arent talking about this run as I think its been about 2 years since GEC ran a stockman and thats one of the companies most coveted patterns!!

So....anyone else over the moon about the 66 stockman run :)

Yep, can't wait! I have any oily creek bone reserved and am waiting to see what the jigged bone options look like, as well as the stag. I'm hoping this is a big run, with lots of choices in stag. Medium Stockman is my favorite pattern!

I would really like a 66 in stag. The 81 is my current absolute favorite and I have been dreaming of a 4" or less stockman in stag.

The 66 is a nice pattern and I have an Oily Creek bone reserved. Also looking to pick up a nice stag if I can land one. I had one from the first run a couple years back but sold it as it was sprung a little soft. Hoping this run is a little more firm.

I love the idea of GEC doing a run of stockmans, and I do have one on preorder, but my level of excitement just isn't all that high. 3 1/2" is pretty small for my tastes. That's even smaller than #15 Beer Scout.

Actually, I'd like to see GEC make an even smaller compact Stockman, something like a Queen No.26 or a Böker Small Stockman, say 3.25" 0r 3 3/8". All tastes vary:)

I would like to see a GEC stockman between 3 3/8 and 3 1/2, that is the sweet spot in my opinion.
