Lets talk GEC!

Yeah, there's a lot to like here: sawcut, polished stag, ironwood on a Barlow!, really cool bolster stamp.

Did the DLT 74 Snakewoods sell out in pre-order?
If so, just validates what I've been thinking for a while. They need more of the exotic woods... snake, osage.
Has there ever been an ironwood GEC?

I'm starting to feel a bit prophetic. Since this post, we have seen at least 3 SFOs for ironwood handles. Not complaining.

I reserved the red sawcut as well! I can't wait, I've been wanting red sawcut for a while, and just haven't snagged one yet.

You just did!
I'm pretty sure we all have the dealers' ears, in this thread in particular.

3? the 54's and 25's are the only ones i know of. What am I missing?

I'm surprised the 25's have an ironwood offering since they are such small knives. I think they're to small to give the ironwood the opportunity to show it's uniqueness. I hope I'm wrong though.

25, 54, and upcoming 66

Good character ironwood has gotten too expensive to be feasible in most cases. GEC wouldn't use it in the past; my guess is because it was so inconsistent. I picked some out at Blade. Not custom knife grade; but I looked through A LOT of ironwood to find 28 pieces I wanted.

Wow. That's excellent information to have. After reading your explanation I immediately went back and reserved one in dessert ironwood. Can't wait to see the slabs you picked out Mike.

Thanks. I only asked because I looked back and there were some that were all steel. Serial 251211

Thanks again Mike you always kill my pocketbook between nf barlows, euro barlow, various sfos and now a 25 barlow.
