Lets talk GEC!

Me too until today. Granted it's a free system designed for school alerts so it is what it is. Again no big deal but chasing this stuff just ain't worth it to me anymore. Glad you got what you wanted. Post some pics when you get it.
If you want to try and figure out why you didn't get notified contact me outside BF.

500 pieces and it's locked? Congrats Mike and GEC!!! I think the traditional knife revival is upon us.........

Interesting comment. I wonder what the sales figures are for traditional knives vs. modern knives? Based on visiting knife websites and inventory in brick and mortar stores I would assume sales of pocket knifes are overwhelming in favor of modern knives.

I don't know what he was referring too, but will guess. I think he was talking about selling $50,000 of GEC 25's in a couple hours is a "revival" in the sense that 10 years ago you wouldn't sell that many traditional knives in such a short period of time... just a guess on my part.

Yep, something like that. Demand is outpacing supply. That tends to be a good thing. While it can frustrate the end user/collector, it just means that we will continue to have access to outstanding traditional knives moving forward. And that, in my opinion, is what I like. More recreations resurrected from the past. This is a good thing. Sometimes frustrating, but all in all, good.

I missed out on this run but am ok with this - this time. We can't desire highly sought after knives and not expect them to be highly sought after!

However, I do like it when SFOs are spread around the dealers, that way I can plead for knives from some dealers who are sympathetic to the fact I am at a distinct disadvantage in the rat race living in Australia- and some are!

I had plenty of time, but opted out of the #25 run. 3 inches is just too small to be appealing to me. I learned my lesson with the Lick Creeks. The #15 is as small as I can go. And then there's that whole no-stainless thing.

I gave some thought to these 25's but decided to pass as well. I'm all excited about the 66 run right now and didn't really need another knife "fix" just yet. I'll probably regret it but for now I'm content.

What's wrong with no stainless options?

Just kidding, .... I see your posts fairly often about it ;). The next stainless GEC run, my first thought will be Buzzbait will be thrilled!

We are sympathetic, just not sympathetic enough to break federal laws. But we have recommended solutions that would actually save most international buyers money.
I guess we could turn whistleblower and get all the other guys a few thousand dollars in fines (and eliminate their ability to ship internationally) - but that isn't the way we roll.

And that next run in 440C stainless better be a 4-blade scout with bail, based on the #35 pattern.... in Northfield trim...... with canvas micarta covers...... and a really cool shield. And ditch the can opener and give me a sheepsfoot blade. Brushed finish all the way around.

I'm not picky.

I don't mind the CK reserve process and there are some good knives coming out as a result of the SFO's but, I was at the Vet and unable to pull the trigger....So, why isn't there other NF SFOs and why isn't there just plain GEC NF #25s for slow pokes or busy folks to buy?

At the risk of whining, this GEC #25 NF SFO is unusual and make the regular GEC NF buyer a loser and displays favoritism for one dealer....I guess the solution would be, and may be in the works, to allow for other NF SFOs and/or GEC production - then we could all get in on the fun as usual...OK, IMO, all done...apologies for any wrong doing - how many demerit points is that...

This has been the format for awhile. For example, the most recent run of 54's were not available as NF line because DLT had the NF SFO.

This is, I think the 4th run of GEC I have purchased new this year. No disappointments so far.

I really like the bone. It sort of reminds me of the peach seed on my TC, but I could be wrong. I usually am :( I like the color too. Have not always been a fan of primary colors on knives, but I like this one for sure.

This is a beauty. Red is my favorite color, but not always on knives. Indian Paintbrush though, especially when it has those sunset orange tinges in it, is probably my favorite overall color of Jigged bone.

Thanks Ryan; I like it a lot more than I thought I would. It's a very nice red, as you said with orange highlights.

The Indian paint brush on today's GEC cover has a different blade etch than yours Alan. Perhaps interesting to those collectors among us who must "catch 'em all" , haha.
