I know the #09 is rather new, but do you think it'll ever be made with a single blade? A long thin wharncliffe blade would be perfect.

I think it was oldmanrunning who recently mentioned that this would be a great frame for a small jack configuration. GECs peanut. Once they have the blade tooling, I don't see why they wouldn't make a single blade if they did...

Anyone here has any insider info on the handle materials for the upcoming run of #66 jacks? ;)

Very nice long Wharncliffe on that, like the shield too.

Looking at the WIP on their site, one thing I'm disappointed in is the choice of acrylic. I thought it was Lava Lamp a light coloured offering from some years back, but it's a dark thing with red swirls, doesn't ignite me. Looks like it's going to be a bone Tidioute then.
 
Forget Viper, that Wharncliffe on the slender, quick Eureka frame should be called the Velociraptor! :D :thumbup:
 
Sure did get a lot of blade in there, the Eureka frame is uncanny in its ability to pull that off. Sweet knife.
 
Man that looks good. Been trying to wait for that new stockman but I dont think I will be able to pass this one up. I think the single blade wharncliffe is my favorite pattern! Atleast it has been for the past year or so ;)
 
After a year, I finally got #92 EJ in ebony. I told myself this would be the only knife I'd buy for a long time. And then they have to make this #92 wharncliffe. There is just absolutely no way I can resist getting one of these. Just look at the blade-to-handle ratio!
 
Just ordered one. Along with a Bull Nose in red linen micarta.

Sorry to be redundant, but look at the length of that blade compared to the handle! The spear on the EJ has a great ratio, but the wharncliffe seems to defy physics.

The 'lava acrylic' #92s are up on the GEC site now - I have to say, they look pretty darn cool...

I'm also very interested in these! I see it as coming up on their website but no info about it on there. I would love to know what kind of wood is going to be offered.
 
From pictures and other sites what I know so far is

Green linen micarta
Ebony
Che-chen rose wood
Lava acrylic
Stag
And a few pics on gecs site show a kinda burnt sienna bone like the offering on the viper northfield

Pix of the NEW 66J? I believe your info is for the 92 Talon?
 
Must be the year of the nail nicks. Wish they had some long pulls for the spear 92, and I'll pass on the Wharncliffe.
