Lets talk GEC!

I know I'm in the minority with this, but I think the jigged yellow rose is nicer than the smooth, but I feel that way about every bone handle.

With that said, I'm hoping to get my first Yellow rose with a #35, so perhaps I'll change my mind when I see it in person.

I agree and think that I would prefer jigged over smooth bone. The only smooth bone I really like is the appaloosa or the smooth Ivory bone. I do have a yellow rose 35 on reserve and one in my collection already so will learn to live with it, but, I wish there would have been a jigged bone option besides the cougar clawed bone. I really like @Railsplitter photo submission and wold be thrilled to have a jigged yellow rose 81 Bull Moose.

An yellow rose 81 Moose would be nice. The yellow rose Abilene Stock Knives on the 81 pattern are terrific.

The Appaloosa is the cream of the crop for me, too. Though that “stormy skies” bone on Charlie’s leftover TC’s is really great looking.

There is a jigged 35 coming, but it beats the name of a competitor! A hemlock option on the Churchill would’ve been phenomenal.

I can't agree more regarding the dream of a Hemlock Green #35. The #66 they did was one of the most classic looking pieces they've made in awhile. And that's high praise. I was hesitant at first, but that color/jigging/shield was a perfect combo IMO.

All that said, the rough jigged "autumn" colored ones still might be the apple of my eye.

I've had a reservation in for the, formerly "jungle", now "new green" acrylic Churchill, and I gotta say I'm gettin' mighty curious as to why we haven't seen any pics of those yet...

Was there ever a jigged Yellow Rose? That would be super cool.
In 2010 they did a cattle rancher (stockman) and a cattle baron (stockman with punch) both jigged yellow bone with yellow rose shield. I only know because my youngest son was born when the cattle baron came out of GEC's factory, thus I had to find one for him........

Always something to look forward to or ponder with GEC:)

I'd like a knife based on the 82 Dixie frame, Clip and Drop-Point or Clip and Sheepfoot on opposite ends pen-knife style. Talking of which, a 38 Pen would be great with Clip or Spear master. Then there's the need for a re-run of the Eureka Jack or Talon with Spear master, add on Smooth Bone and all stainless construction with Gimp or Prop shield and I'm at the head of the stampede :D:eek::D

Fingers crossed for the Moose jigged Rose.
If it comes out smooth I'll still get one ....because I like the yellow.

I just got the notifications on this new pattern. I have to get one or two.... It is Oregon, after all, how can I resist?
