Lets talk GEC!

This MUST be what Mr. Howard referred to at the Rendezvous when I asked if there were any plans to make more on the #22 frame and he said there might be something coming later this year!!!

Very exciting. Seems like they might be going with more unique shields, I like it!

It has to be a joke though that the tip of the main blade on the middle Northfield knife is visibly proud of the frame??? haha I know many don't care or are as touchy about this as me, but does it really matter so little if a finger can catch on the tip that a mockup can be published with a proud tip???

Maybe it's a trade off for not having recessed pins.

A good size, not too massive nor fiddly.

I like the simple Tidioute approach actually. :) Rat-Tail is a great bolster but it's better on a Barehead knife.

They'd better get the nail-nicks dead on or else the Master will be out of reach.....

The 44 looks like a winner to me ! Nice looking clip blade and at 3.5 inches should be great in hand ! Fingers crossed for some nice snappy walk and talk!

New Gunstock!

GUNSTOCK.jpg
Did you find this on their website??? I did not notice it when I went on today.

So my Banana #35 main blade is feeling grindy and almost seizing up on opening. I think it feels how my #25 felt before it basically self destructed. Any suggestions? I'll oil it, but beyond that I'm not sure I want to do anything so that it is fully under warranty. Should I just send it back before opening it too much and possibly worsening it?

#44 pattern . . . oh, HELL yes! First rat-tail bolster, I believe. If it has an extension spring for the pen, like the 92s did, then it's perfect! Might need one of each cover.

Esky zulu has a rat tail bolster, if that counts for you.

The #76 was not a true gunstock pattern, but more of a serpentine gunstock. I always thought the proportions were off, it never looked right to me. The new #44 is about as good as it gets, and the rat-tail and engraved flat head bolster really make it special.

It doesn't for me, really, as it's not a GEC branded knife, but a Northwoods. Good call, though.
