I think you will be pleasantly surprised by the 14. There is quite a bit of blade packed into that small model.
Strange to me that you are looking at some 14's Dylan . I did buy a few of them last year for Christmas gifts and then we did not give them out . Just kept them in the tubes and then I was going to give them again this year but my wife does not wan to . So I took them out and looked at them again and the 2 bladed Ebony is just a Real Gem . It is so nice , I might just keep it . If you can find one , I think you would like it , but it is a SMALL knife .
Harry
Hope you like it, Dylan! I went a little overboard on #14's when they were released last year; they're nice knives, but unfortunately I don't find myself carrying one very often. For me, they're just a bit small. I'll be interested to hear your thoughts, particularly comparing the #14 to the #25. (Personally, I don't find them to be at all similar, despite having the same closed length. I much prefer the #25.)
The two-blade does help the #14 feels a bit more sizeable in hand. (Of course, not knowing when I purchased mine, I bought several single-blades and only one two-blade.)
Thanks for your thoughts on the #14, Dylan.Sorry, fellas, for taking so long to share my thoughts regarding the 14. I have had it for almost a week now and have not regretted my acquisition one bit.
I will not mention the vendor I found this blade at as I do not believe them to be a supporting dealer here but I will say that I had a very enjoyable experience purchasing from them. A classy outfit with a lot of great personal touches that really endeared them to me as a whole.
I think I would like to try out a single blade variant at some point in the future just to say that I have but I think it likely that I will not care for it nearly as much as I do the 2 blade version. The second blade, liner, and spring really do add some heft to this little guy that would be sorely lacking should the aforementioned parts be absent. I am generally not a small knife guy but I continue to be surprised repeatedly with the exposure to patterns that I otherwise probably would not care for. I thoroughly enjoy the 25 pattern and I think the 2-blade 14 is going to be just as enjoyable when it comes to appreciating a lot of knife in a small package. At some point I would like to try a 2-blade #15 as I think the single blade variant is almost too slim judging by the couple of examples I currently have in my possession. This simply could speak to a developing preference on my part...
I really enjoy the steel bolsters, liners, and pins on this 14. It adds something that I can't quite put my finger on. Perhaps it is the "workhorse" nature of such construction that appeals to me and I am less inclined to baby it right out of the tube. This could also be why the Tidioute trim is appealing to me more and more with each GEC release as well. The Ebony covers are inky black with an exceptional luster that I have not experienced yet with my current assortment of Ebony clad knives. These covers are smooth, glossy, and provide such a tactile pleasure when handling/fondling this blade.
I really do not have much, if anything, to complain about. My preferences are always evolving and I simply could just be experiencing the glow of having a new knife and being able to experience a pattern that has caught my fancy. In terms of comparing the 14 to the 25, it is a little tough... I think the the single blade 14 wouldn't compare at all but the 2-blade is somewhat close in terms of heft and though the shape is a bit different, I haven't handled them together enough to determine which one I might prefer over the other. So right now, I am just going to go with, I like them both!
Enough of my blabbering, time for pictures!

Thanks Lance, the Forum Police moved that post to a different thread. I did not know that is was a no no to post a photograph of a traditional knife with a modern knife. I have only been posting for a few days, and all I seem to do is make mistakes. I don’t think I will have a long career here on Blade Forums! Here is another photo of that stag 72 with a Cougar Clawed Churchill. Hopefully, I will be safe with two GEC knives! All joking aside, I am not trying to be a rebel. I was just unaware.
I saw your Clawed Bone 72 on a different thread. What a nice knife! I usually only allow myself one example of the patterns I like. Otherwise, I would have one of those also. I made up for that shortcoming by getting the Clawed Churchill. I love the way GEC carves and dyes the bone. I also see that you also use your 72. It’s by far my most used knife. I use everything I collect, but that 72 is always front and center.
Some very nice Stag on a very nice knife there Sir !!!!! I would hope that you would stick around . I enjoy your posts a lot .View attachment 818196

Thanks for your support guys! You make me feel like Cool Hand Luke. (For those of you too young to know who Cool Hand Luke was, think anti-hero who refuses to conform. One of the best movies of all time by the way.). The moderators “ have got my mind right.” Just kidding Gary, please don’t put me back in the box!
Mark, how is your Unicorn? There have been quite a few posts about them not holding up. I hope yours has. The Pioneer Bone was the one I kept from that run of 25’s.

Haha. Darn t***bs!Well he's a kind of 'illegal' here as it has t***b opener/lock & skeleton construction, but I think it looks the Traditional part despite these add onsPaul Chan Hanwei Sheffield Folder. In Bonestag (that actually comes close to Stag) 440C and all stainless fittings. 4"/10cm closed. An example of a very high quality Chinese knife made about 10 years ago.
