Well if this is true, that's good news and bad news. The good news is I'd be really into a run of 99s as opposed to some 72s or 83s. The bad news, I've already reserved 3 of the 14s and plan snatching one or two of the DLT SFOs, and was hoping whatever was next up was something I wouldn't be interested in... I'm gonna have to sell a kidney or something it looks like. Any takers? They are rerunning the #99 after the 14's.

I'd be good with a Tidioute in some sort sawcut blue or green bone, and a Northfield with polished blade and either lava, tigerlily, or hummingbird acrylic covers.lol, sell something that looks like a kidney and try to get one of the 99's in elk!
That makes sense to me. Mind you that's not saying alot lol.☺I would guess more of those are genuinely being carried and used vs just carried as pocket jewelry. Not bashing people here or anyone who carries a knife and doesn't use it hard, just saying that BladeForums is by no means the majority of sales for GEC.
I was wondering about lock play as well. However in my experience GEC has only gotten better at making knives over the years. The transitions from bone to bolsters is one I've noticed got alot better. So I'm thinking they waited tell they had improved on the issues they had in the past before attempting another run of lockback's. Time will tell I guess.I've been off the knife front for a few months but jumped on the TBD bone. 440C? Right on! Fingers crossed on the lock play.
Good Lord, I was on CK's preorder page @ 3:55 and there was nary a sign of these. By 4:40 they've already closed the reserve. That sucks. Anywhere else taking preorders?
Dang, completely missed the boat on these 99s, I've been hoping they would run this pattern again. That's what I get for being super busy.
I would have been particularly interested in the Elk.
Ah well, let us see what the other dealers come up with.
