Lets talk GEC!

I was lucky enough to end up getting a Rotten Banana 85, despite originally not being into the 85 pattern. I can't wait to compare the rotten banana to my green banana 35! I'll post a picture.

They are very nice to carry with the near sunken joints :)

I'd like to echo the calls for a run of 61s and/or 62s. I believe the newer staff at GEC have enough experience under their belt now to take a try at a more intricate design like a Congress..

Also, and I'm sure in in the minority here, I'd love to see another run of 89 splitback whitlers. And a stockman, ANY STOCKMAN, in stainless!!

Emphasis mine. I was really hoping they'd do a run of stainless #82s. This upcoming run is both exciting, because I love the pattern, but also a little disheartening because I know they won't do a stainless run anytime soon probably.

Quick question for you GEC guys. I recently rediscovered a knife I bought several years ago. A burnt stage 15 code 251208 J. After doing a little research I figured out what the code means and what it is. My question is the main blade has 1 of 50 on it. What does this signify? And no I'm not asking the value. It is a beautiful knife that I've started to carry and have no intention of getting rid of. I really appreciate the workmanship and it's nice to carry along with my usual modern spyderco that's always on me.
Thanks

That means that it is one knife of 50 produced with those covers. If it is serialized (number on the bolster) then there were 50 produced that are numbered and probably some that aren't.

1 of 50 just means there were 50 (approx) of that model, in that handle material, made. You have one of the 50ish that were made. NOT number 1, if that makes sense.
Let's see a pic!

If it's a 251208 you have a GEC 25 not a 15. Nice knife! The J was likely written on the tube by the dealer to identify which burnt stag was pictured on their site and not part of the model number.

The j could also be for jack which some of the knives have as a letter designation.

Yea, sorry I misspoke. The 15 is on the bolster. Thanks for clearing up exactly what I have. I've watched the YouTube video of the factory tour and read up on GEC and I must say I am very impressed with the company. I think I'm going be be adding a few more to my collection. Thanks again.
