Lets talk GEC!

I never worry much about blade etches, since they are temporary on a user.

I’d always hoped GEC would do a Beer Scout with a clip point. Those clip point Crown Lifters (and the Radio Jacks) are great looking knives, and I prefer a clip point to a sheepsfoot as a main blade or only blades.

Great photo, too! It just looks like summer (which sounds pretty good right about now!). :D

I just contacted Christine at GEC regarding a repair I need that was completely my fault.
Her reply was to send it in with a check for $20.00 and they will take care of it.
I think that is Outstanding customer service! Couldn't ask for more.

Don't misunderstand me when I posted GEC'S reply, I do not think they did anything wrong and that thier customer service is just fine. I was just sharing my experience, and based on all of the information that I have I am opting to not spend $25 and change the blade myself. It is a user knife it has plenty of blade left it will all be fine. If I had broke the thing in half I would do it differently.

Did not mean to imply anything, just wanted to share my experience. This was the first time I have contacted them regarding a repair and I was impressed.

Good I'm happy for you I hope you get your knife back just the way you want it.

I'm always in the for a large coke bottle. Seems I missed out on the stag pre-order from a certain collector of knives.

Those things will be pretty hard to get, if the 43 stags were any indication. Never was able to capture one of them for what I’d consider reasonable.

It is pretty big for a carrying in a pocket but I still am looking forward to their production
Harry

i also plan to ask @Makael to make me a couple of his sheaths for the 97, but it seems a little early to order.....

and i will also probably start wearing Filson tin cloth boxers and tin cloth pants exclusively to support this knife

I think a diagonal belt sheath would be great for carry.

ok, i have the solution to the beer scout knife trademark nonsense.

it is now the Beer Chief knife, with only minor letter changes on shield. an homage to the most senior knife maker at GEC. and obviously a Chief is way better than a Scout so everyone will think its an upgrade and dump the lowly Beer Scout knives.

or if possible the shield could be a noble pre-European American continent indigenous persons visage done in an honorable way to emphasize the majestic martial heritage of the continent. i hear Savage Arms has a nice logo they are not using.
