Lets talk GEC!

I like the 3 spring setup myself. My M&G Yankee Whittler is a 3 spring. It allows larger blades in a more compact package. Plus lets my large hands get a better grip on a small knife.

I actually like the 3-spring knives and they're some of my favorite GECs, especially the Weaver Jacks. M&G too. Would love to see that one with 3 full size blades. (drop the pen blade & add a sheepsfoot maybe)

Doubtful I'd buy one, but GEC has yet to do a proper toothpick pattern fish knife. 2-blades, slender California clip & hook remover/scaler blade.

Regardless, more #12s is good. Someone mentioned yellow rose..

They did some #63s up that way didnt they?? And I highly doubt they'll do a yellow rose for the 12s, since they are doing a #97 up that way.

They did in fact make some 63s like that. However, when I think of a traditional fishing (tackle box) knife, I think of a toothpick shape. Robeson's version comes to mind.

Regarding yellow rose being done on the new #12s... I can't see what they're doing on the 97s having any impact on what they do for the 12s. Unless my memory fails me, they've yet to do yellow rose toothpicks & I'd not be shocked to see that. Hope so. Fingers crossed.

What other blade could you properly fit into a toothpick pattern??

Maybe a long super slender spear, like the one from the Ben Hogans? Now THAT would be something I might be interested in.
Pretty sure it is going to be a clip blade...just not sure if regular or muskrat clip.

Why don't they put that dumb hot dog shield to rest? 50 years from now and your legacy is gonna be the hotdog shield? Gotta be a better "standard" option than that one.

I dig em on some patterns.

It's like a terrible never ending joke. Funny, not funny. Next thing you know they will start using other food products like a banana or hamburger and people will buy them anyway.

Waaaay ahead of you...

Well there ya go :) Not really my thing but the Tidioutes look enticing :thumbsup::thumbsup:
I heard there will be two SFOs with this run...one of them is Frank's in blood red jig bone but I'm not sure who the other is for.

Muskrat clip on the #12. That's different than before, isn't it? Seems like a better match to that frame than a regular clip. These could be good.

Went and looked at the GEC website. Previous runs of the #12 have had either a muskrat clip or a regular clip. I hadn't seen the muskrat versions before. I really like them.

The #12 will be a short run for those interested...make sure you reach out to your dealers :thumbsup::thumbsup:

That would be probably the only #12 that would interest me. F&F shadow fish knife in stainless.

Yep, they're nice. Didn't seem to sell super well.
