Lets talk GEC!

The #12 will be a short run for those interested...make sure you reach out to your dealers :thumbsup::thumbsup:
When you say short run, do you mean a short run like the #13s from a couple years ago and the run of #56s last year, or a "short run" compared to the larger runs now being produced, like the #82s were billed as a short run?

Just curious.

I don't know the exact numbers but it is probably comparable to the recent 99 run I would guess. It feels like something they are kind of slipping in there between bigger runs (the #29 next? #86? Not sure).
Here is the exact quote from my correspondence "I talked with Christine about the size of the run. It will not be large at all, a short run distributed on an allocation basis."

CJ's early reserve says expected date is May. That's alot of 97s to make. Or maybe some northwoods in there:cool:?

If I'm not mistaken...I recall seeing the 97 run was going to be in the neighborhood of 5000+. If true, there will probably be more than one shipment of each material to each dealer and I would guess it could continue into May. If you are waiting on a stag...that could be towards the end of the run. May is a safe and reasonable estimate and if they come sooner then even better :)

You don't get griped out when they come early....

Where are all the "I can never get a knife due to the lolly scramble" folks?

Wondering if we're wasting our time selecting a sure thing reservation when all the recent runs under 5000 units have defaulted to standby-only, I imagine. ;)

When do you anticipate the 29s will go up for early reserve, Mike?

Don't really understand the comment, but I will say that no 5000 unit runs have went standby only that I know about (except the monster stag #97). The #12's will be less that 500pcs each I expect - they don't usually make a lot when they are "allocated".

No idea on the #29.

Well I was able to get a reserve in for both Tidioute #12s within 90 seconds of Mike sending out the message. I'm very confident I'll be receiving both come May time.

I've never been crazy about the looks of that muskrat clip, but when it boils down to it, two of my favorite EDCs are the #82 possum skinner and the #48 weasel. And the #12's muskrat clip should be nearly identical to those two, with a nice fat handle to grip on to.

I missed out, but that short fat handle is why I'm not whining about it ... had it been more like one of the Queen or S&M large toothpicks, I'd have still missed it, but I'd be crying a river over it.

UPS man just dropped off a few knives for me, admittedly I'm a bit of a GEC noob, I mean I've looked them over, admired them a bit but these are my first.

I’ve never been able to score the melon Whittler or the new day barlow, and the “for flesh only” etch on the spey is probably one of my favorite etches GEC produced. Nice start to the collection!

Put myself on the #12 NF jigged bone standby list. I got into collecting GEC ~2015. The # 12s were an older run (at the time) and no longer available. I have always found them to be nice looking Knives and have hoped GEC would make another run. I like the blade choice for this run as well.
