Lets talk GEC!

Maybe super short runs....the 72 seems to be stainless with the Great Eastern Cutlery branded acorn shield!

Personally, I wouldn't worry too much over the lolly-scramble that will undoubtedly occur over the upcoming SFO. Charlie has a lot to be proud of when it comes to the desire and demand that surround his knives. A real testament to the value he brings to the world of traditionals and the collecting of such.

With that said, there will be 500 of this Lamb Foot made. Sure, there will be a mad rush to get these but as evidenced by the last Ancient Barlow SFO, the market had enough saturation that the secondary exchange was inundated with sales and most folks that I know that missed out initially (including myself) were able to scoop one up at a reasonable price.

Yes, I have a fair amount of angst regarding this upcoming release. I am a huge Lamb Foot enthusiast and have a considerable collection (still growing). I will certainly be seeking to add these historical offerings from Charlie and GEC to it. But, I can't let the mad dash trouble me any, it isn't worth the raised blood pressure and added stress.

Patience is key. Timing helps too. As does luck. But making good friends is the best possible thing you can do and can be quite rewarding.

Half of the fun is trying to land one!

The other half is the relationships you build in the meantime. Good luck Dylan hope you land one or two! ;)

The forthcoming Waynorth Cutlery release will be interesting, not just because of interest generated but it will be the first time that GEC make a 'foreign' non American pattern I think?
It will also bring to bear GEC's strict QC an aspect sometimes lacking on English knives in my experience.

I hope to get a bone version, wood is becoming less and less interesting to me, I almost never carry a wood scaled knife these days, just how it's evolved with me.

I'm surprised they're not running a regular run of the 93's too.

According to Darren's post that I quoted below, it sounds like they will be.

GEC Insider: next pattern up after the Toothpick is called the #93 (Ramsfoot or Ramshorn something like that?) and will be made along with Charlie Campagna's Waynorth Cutlery Lambsfoot.

Ooooh trying to catch up but looks like they threw a run of 72's and 65 Fish Knives in the mix...Chris neglected to mention either of those! :)
A very welcome surprise though I am looking forward to both :thumbsup::thumbsup:

Shew Lord, so much Good stuff at once. Obviously the swayback #93 is a must have.
I think I could pass on a stainless #72 right now, but a fish knife in nifebright is something I positively need.

If that is a 47 Harvester, this appeals to me the most from the upcoming runs. The F&F line of GEC's has hit a sweet spot in me that I can't explain.

GEC Insider: Bill hasn't decided how he is going to release the 65 fish knife and may hold those for the rendezvous. I can't get any information on the stainless 72.

Looks like the Pruner, Fish Knife, Hoof Pick, H10, and a handful of kitchenware are being made as "idle time" knives while "just in time" components were late. Blade Show or Rendezvous fodder seems like the best guess, but we will see....

You guys may not have a chance at the stainless 72 and other goodies showing up at GEC unless you attend the GEC Rendezvous, I'm guessing.

I certainly don't know better than any of the above quoted members, but I did ask Chris about short runs earlier this year and she said any surprise short runs from then until the Rendezvous would be saved for the Rendezvous. I think they're trying to have more short runs available at the Rendezvous this year because of the increase in attendance etc. at the Rendezvous.

I've had a fish knife or two and they're cool. I'm hoping the K41 comes with a kydex sheath. That looks like an incredible outdoors fixed blade.

I've heard some cool and exciting news about the Rendezvous parts knives that I can't share but it sounds like they're gonna be pretty sought after and unique.
