Lets talk GEC!

Browsing around different threads here and at other forums I saw pictures of some older birdseye stockman knives from Case and Schrade. It got me thinking about the Farm & Field line and how it's all single blade patterns save for the fish knife. I know that the point of F&F is to be the more affordable everyday working tool and having a single blade helps meet that end. Less blades equals less material and less labor versus more blades. But I couldn't shake the idea that something like the #81 Abilene stockman done up F&F style with yellow delrin and no bolsters would be a really cool knife.

Anyone else feel that a ~4 inch stockman would be a nice addition to the Farm & Field range?

Yes!

Has anyone heard any rumors about knives that might show up for the holiday season? A SFO perhaps? Something that may not yet be on the GEC Production Schedule?

Never mind. I got my orders in just in time. Those went fast!!!:p

Glad I ordered early. Mine came in today.

Thanks to Bob, Brian, and AL for giving my post such thoughtful responses. I haven't laughed like this for days!

Hey, did anybody around here pick up one of those 'America's fighting ships' SFO's? They looked pretty good, but considering all the others I need, it was a little out of my price range. Would love to see some pics of it if someone got one.

I bought one of the knives. I am from Texas. Haven't received it yet but when I do I will post a picture. I asked for a darker shade on the wood.

There was recently a short window to get in on a preorder for a GEC #15 Waynorth Barlow. I know that this is the same frame as the TC Barlows, but does anyone know what they will look like?

They are TC barlow anniversary knives and they will have red soup bone handles. Waynorth discussed them in the "what makes a good traditional barlow" thread.

I'm upset about missing this. I've been waiting on getting my hands on a Charlow. I can't afford to buy one off the auction site. Looks like I'll be waiting longer. :(

Really,

I am on here couple times a day and did not see anything. Forest for the trees I guess.
Dave

Go to the GEC blog and look there.

The Traditional Forum is not the place to find out which knife is being made next.
