Lets talk GEC!

What advent wreath would look like if I were to decorate. ;-)

Happy winter solistice everybody!

These are all of my GEC's so far, when I first learned of GEC I didn't know what all the fuss was about. And when I seen the prices some go for on the secondary market I figured they were out of my range. Couple of these was gifts from great members here, thats how I learned what the fuss was all about lol. A couple more was scored at a good deal from the exchange, and finally I have my BF knife. Turns out they're not so far outta reach after all, well at least some:)

So, for 2020 we know the #62 Easy Pocket Congress is first and there's a #23 Trapper that needs to be done by April for a couple of Club Knives. Any other rumors for the coming year?

Oh okay, so the #23 is out there now? I've been sitting on that one for a while. I actually mentioned it in a video I recorded a while ago but haven't uploaded since I wasn't sure if Bill wanted it out there that #23s are coming up.

Yes B B.F.U , we have known for quite a while. Bill told us to not tell you that we knew.

I am very happy for all of you who have been waiting for the 23’s. However, I might keep my powder dry for another day. The 42’s and 43’s are about as big as I want to go. Of course, I could easily change my mind once I see them. Goodness knows I have done that more than once!

Well, I guess GEC hasn't officially announced it, but it came out through the Oregon Club (I can't remember exactly how - an order form for their big show, or a newsletter, or something like that). At any rate, hoping for a year of great releases. I'm personally hoping for lots of ebony wood, smooth white bone, and sawcut bone covers in the coming year - I'm becoming less enamored with stag and jigged bone. Since I only started collecting GEC this year, almost any old patterns will be new to me.

Lol I asked him after @Onearmbladenut posted his thread about OKCA making Trapper knives in 2020. I just try not to do something that's gonna make people not trust to tell me things. I like to know what's going on, but I try not to leak things when requested not to.

If I remember correctly @Onearmbladenut said he saw a prototype. I heard of it before his thread because someone at the Allegheny Mountain Knife Collectors Association club that I go to had spoken to Bill and heard that the #23 was a possibility for our club knife for 2020.

Yeah I saw that but didn't realize it had become common knowledge that it was in fact the #23 frame.

Well Knife Knuts, my 93 was put to great use today. Everything from scratching out price labels to cutting wrapping paper, from cutting off tags to trimming stumps on gifts from live center turnings. That ramsfoot blade sure comes in handy.

Merry Christmas to those of you who celebrate it. May your pocket have a GEC and may it see a lot of use.

All I want for Christmas is......

Gec to bring back the 09 Esquire!

Really wishing I didnt pass on these during the original release(like a lot of runs). I wouldnt mine if this new one had a clip main either. But hopefully the thing they change is going to tip bolsters like this example I found on the web. I doubt they would add a shield but I certainly wouldnt mind one :)

Merry Christmas fellow GEC enthusiasts!

I would totally dig that! Also I would love GEC trying a Christmas tree acrylic that looks similar to the old celluloid.
