Lets talk GEC!

Looks like they're confused if it's a #63 or #36

Must be a typo because it says #63 Mako on the link. Besides, the #36 is the Sunfish. Regardless, it looks fantastic! I'm really happy they're making a new large single blade.

It looks like it would be uncomfortable in the hand... Something fishy is going on ;)

Looks awesome! They come out with too many great knives. I'm sitting here, just got in, with my #65 and it looks like the #63 will be a cousin.

Huh, everybody has a different feel for their hand, but I think it looks like it'll be great. I love the long thin handle of the #65 and with the nice subtle center swell this looks like it will be even more comfortable. I don't think the "fins" on the cap will be an issue with a 4.5" long handle.

Wow! really does kinda look like a shark. I'm sure they meant 63 not a 36. Would make a helluva letter opener:)

I have always admired the vintage fishtails from afar, cool knife just not for me. Destined to be one of those patterns we might not see GEC duplicate for many years (if ever?), along the lines of their swing guard. Could ultimately make these types of releases some of the more valuable down the road. In the meantime it will probably grow on me and chances are good one will end up keeping my swing guard company

Hey, a knife that GEC's releasing that I probably won't buy! Finally some breathing room for my pocket book:D All kidding aside, it's not my cup of tea but I have no doubts that they'll be nice and probably sought after for some traditionalist! Now, where's my Bullnose in Autumn Gold Bone?:D... Never gonna happen but man O man if it did!!!

Same sentiment here. I love many of the GEC patterns but usually can't afford to buy them all, especially when they release ones that I want back to back. I am glad they are hitting a run of patterns that don't interest me, so that I don't feel so bad about the ones I'm missing out on. :) Maybe by the time I have some knife money put back, they'll swing back around to some that I missed the first go-round.

Looks great, but I'm surprised at the size. I'd think smaller would have been more popular.

Maybe so, but I reckon there are more than a few of us out there who like the larger knives. The #65 is one of my favorites and this is reminiscent of that. Besides, all you folks who like the smaller knives have tons to choose from already! I find that long, thin knives like this are great not only in the pocket, but slicing up food as well, which makes them more versatile to me. Wouldn't mind seeing a spear version as well.

I think the mako looks cool (I'm suprised they can use the name, since Case already does). The Ben Hogan looked practical, but somehow a little too thin looking aesthetically. This does not seem to have the same problem. Good to hear I'll be in a slight minority, they won't all disappear before I have a chance to get one.

...the fish-scale jigging of the tidioute looks cool in that picture, I can also imagine some sort of blue acrylic fitting in with the theme.

If it only had a lanyard hole, then it would double as a fishing lure for large predatory fish as well (tailor, mulloway, baracuda). :)
