Let's talk Northwoods

Today was my first attempt to grab a Northwoods. I have read all the accounts of cartjacking etc. and thought I’d add my 2 cents.

I used Apple Pay on my phone and it was fast as lightning. Not to rub salt in the wound but there was no issue for me because Apple Pay is native to the OS of the phone and thus doesn’t have to route to another website for execution of payment. When you hit pay, all you do is double click the button and you’re done.

It might help some folks get what they want in the future.

Thanks!

I was fortunate enough to score one in mammoth. #66

Congrats everyone...I’ve been lucky enough to score a few in the past, no luck today. The Northwoods a drops are too stressful for me. I have no idea how someone is able to checkout with two or more models in 30 seconds. I carted a sawcut immediately and went straight to the cart and got sniped in 15 seconds, no joke.

First time Mammoth Ivory(no way expected to get one). A tribute to the notion of never giving up. If an all thumbs individual like me can get lucky, eventually, then so can everyone else, eventually. May you all who didn’t score, get one eventually. Congratulations to those who scored.

One might say I didn’t get the pick of the litter, but I’m very pleased.

Same here. I love burlap micarta on a folder and at least this one doesn't look like dog doo-doo as some of the previous Northwoods burlaps have. I really didn't expect to nab one as I was finishing a five-hour roadtrip in wet weather but got home with two minutes to spare. Even got to use the $10 coupon they sent in the mail for Christmas.
How in the heck did you have enough time to enter the coupon code without getting your cart robbed?

I don't understand how their software works. The first person to put a knife in their cart should get the knife. If they haven't paid after a couple minutes, then it could go back up for sale, but it should show as sold the second it goes in a cart.

Shhhh! Don’t give our secrets away. ;) I haven’t missed getting one of these quick sellout drops yet thanks to Apple Pay! Here’s mine I got today.

While all you guys dove in for the heritage I poked around the stragglers and found a desert ironwood ocoee “store” model on the last page. I’m pretty pumped, the store model doesn’t bother me because I’ll be using it anyway, don’t need the pristine resale value and I think I got it for a couple bucks cheaper than the initial retail prices.

Beautiful...They matched those covers perfectly! Nice score!

I’m a newcomer here, and participated (without any luck, of course) in my first NW Madhouse Dash yesterday. Getting hit by cart sniping was a learning experience, albeit not a good or positive one. At any rate, roughly how many times per year does KSF stage one of these feeding frenzies? I talked to somebody there yesterday, and they were very closed-mouthed about that. All I was able to drag out of the guy was that it happens more in a “couple/few times a year” range than in the “10 or 12 times a year” range.

Is the texture of mammoth like stag or is it smooth???

I have Mammoth fever!
